| AgedOak (11), Ohio | | September 20, 2009 Visited 9/18/2009) while making a road trip to D.C. Arrived about 9:00 p.m. and had a 25 second wait before being seated; even though there was a large crowd present. Service was very good. I had the cask New Moon which was excellent and the Hefeweizen which was pretty average. Others in the group had the 21 Cherries (very good) and the IPA (good). Appetizers were well worth the money and the entre was very good, except the Macaroni and cheese with ham was a bit over powered by the smoked ham. A very enjoyable dining and drinking experience. I will return if in the area again. | | ben4321 (44), Rockville, Maryland | | September 8, 2009 I enjoyed this place. Stumbled in here on a Saturday evening, after visiting Volt (really good restaurant down the street), and enjoyed this place. Nice beers. It was a bit crowded, which may have lead to the mediocre service, but anyway solid place. Nice location, nice outdoor area, solid beer selection, certainly worth a visit if you are in Frederick.
| | coldbrewky (50), Saugerties, New York | | August 13, 2009 Stumble, stagger, fall. Stumble, trip, bounce, settle back into the bar chair. Repeat. Ahhhh.....Brewer’s alley, they’ve got sumpin for what ails the press gang trainee. We met here three times a week after the daily attempts of mind control. (I mean we had to make all you can eat ribs at barley and hops).
the bartenders put up with our shenannigans because we emptied our expense accounts here. Above average brews and great wood fire , brick oven pizza. I was partial to the stout. Big groups are welcome and handled with ease. Stagger, fall, fall, stumble. | | Bonster (27), Jersey Shore, New Jersey | | August 9, 2009 I frequented this place quite a bit during my extended stay in Frederick. The food can be pricey but not disappointing. I really enjoyed their seasonals and they always have a good selection and something special on tap. The Maibock was one of my favorites, very malty with lingering sweetness. I didn’t get to try their barleywine but it’s supposed to be not too shabby. | | maniac (90), Richmond, Virginia | | May 17, 2009 Visited on 02/28/2009. Nice restaurant here and they treated us fairly well. I sampled everything on tap here and most was fairly good. The food was quite tasty and the service was excellent. | | Maltajo (19), TARRYTOWN, New York | | May 2, 2009 A good place to drink. I would not recemend the food, but drink! by all means drink! Nice crowd in a great hood. | jboehman (2), Frederick, Maryland does not count - explanation | | April 15, 2009 This is my favorite local brewpub...I particularly enjoy the cask ales at this restaurant. The food is spotty and depends heavily on which chef is working that day. I go there for the beer, and a casual place to hang out with friends in historic downtown Frederick. Beer prices for their house brews are entirely reasonable and a great value. | | Nejhleader (64), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania | | April 6, 2009 A nice place right on Frederick. The beers slightly above average, didn’t get to try the food, but the menu was expensive. The bar was nice and the staff was friendly. | | tronraner (100), Seymour, Tennessee | | March 17, 2009 Pretty neat place tucked away in downtown. The atmosphere is nice, though I would imagine it might get crowded when busy (I was there for lunch). Service was quite good. The beers aren’t anything to write home about, but aren’t that bad, and a few of them were interesting at least. I ate a bowl of gumbo, which was quite good; however, the portion was tiny and cost a fortune for what it was. | | Nate (197), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | August 22, 2008 Nice place to eat. Easily accessible from downtown parking and sits among many shops and restaurant in the downtown area. Had great service and friendly staff. The beers were pretty good, though not extraordinary. The pizza I had was fairly banal, and the crust was just tasteless. The rest of the menu looked pretty good - I’d go back. |
