I called about touring the brewery on an off-day and managed to get myself and 2 friends in. The brewery itself is pretty impressive, eclipsing anything in Louisville. Almost all of their beers were available in the sampling room, though some only in bottles for sale. Very friendly, but in this industry that’s the norm.

The tour makes for a fun Saturday. Great beer, free pint glass, and how can you go wrong when Ralph Steadman designs your beer labels?

Visited on 02/28/2009. Stopped by here and had a pint of beer before starting the tour. The brewery here is huge! Three story fermenters line the place. Apparently they do contract brewing for quite a few other locations as I saw 200 Barrels of Rye^2 fermenting away. Friendly staff allowed us to sample quite a bit of the available brews. Certainly worth stopping by and seeing the magnitude of this brewery.

I love that this brewery is now in my hometown--I’m proud of it! Run by good people who love their beer, the Saturday brewery tours are totally worth it.

A really awesome place. $5 to drink, but you get 6 6 oz samples with that and you get to keep the pint glass, get their early because the place gets packed.

A great place to stop by for a cheap Saturday brewery tour and a couple beers, and the occasional festival. The tour has become much more popular in the past year, and now a $5 glass is required (it was free in the past), but it is still a fun time and good value. The on-tap beer selection is very good and diverse, featuring a lot of different styles and even mulitple brand labels. The brewery and employees have a friendly, laid-back nature and clearly enjoy their work. Overall the value is always good at the brewery, and it is a fun place to visit.

You get a glass, Brewery tour and all you could drink samples for $5 bucks- a hell of a bargain. Hope to see more tour days or tasting events in the future. Laid back atmosphere, almost need more space for the tour and tasting guests, it was packed - (see $5 for tour and beer!) But you pushed your way up to the bar and dig in. They had most of everything on tap and the tour was pretty good, see just about everything. Outside seating area as well. They do check ID no exceptions! Worth the trip to Frederick Md. nice area. Really dog friendly all over the place too.
