Stopped here after dinner at the Olney Ale House. Decent selection that I would say is very comparable to that of the Whole Foods in Vienna. Solid choice of foreigns (at high prices) and an array of local sixers. I noticed some cases that were very out of season - Dogfish Head Punkin Ale still selling at the end of April!

just a nice small shop. definately best beer selection i’ve found in montgomery co. expensive as hell. the pick-a-six is a good offering. got weyerbacher, ommegang, stoudts, troegs, allagash, & mendocino for my six pack. that cost me $30. yes, $30. reccomended only for selection, if you’re looking for some pretty rare stuff, this is the place. they’ll order stuff for you too. but if you’re low on cash, skip it.

Very nice and cozy wine and beer shop. I would say about half the store is beer (at least 500 bottles) , all neatly organized. Good selection of regional micros, Belgians, and European beers. I would say this has a better selection that Astor liquors and could give Chevy Chase a run for the money. You can mix six packs and get a 33% discount. So what’s the problem? GD Hercules (10.99 per 22oz), Rogue Chocolate Stout (12.99 per 22oz), Green Flash IPA ($16 per six), Flying Dog Weizenbock corked 750 ($26). Prices are insanely high. So high that all I walked out of there with was a 16 oz Diet Pepsi, and that was $2! I hear the Montgomery County has some higher taxes, but I find it hard to believe that it justifies this kind of mark up. These prices are almost what you would pay at a bar! What a waste of an otherwise very good bottle shop.

This place was pretty impressive. Nice selection, Picked up some De Dolle Stille Nacht, Flying Dog Wild Dog Weizenbock, Avery Reverand & Salvation, Weyerbacher, & there was plenty more good stuff to choose from: Rogue, DFH, Clipper City, Lots of Imports. Good selection of wines and cheeses as well. Was there on a Saturday afternoon & they had Beer, Wine & Cheese samples. Good service, helpful but not intrusive, let you look around & pick stuff out, offered assistance when asked or it seemed needed ("I’ve got more of that Stille Natch in the back if you need more"). Prices seemed a little high, probably because of the area, but you got quality for your dollar. Had a little cafe for deli stuff & cheeses but I did not eat-other than some cheese samples, so I didn’t rate for food.

Nicely organized, clean, well-lit, and often with pleasant folks behind the front desk with plenty of beer knowledge. This place has perhaps the best selection in Montgomery County, with some items I haven’t seen anywhere else in the tri-state area: Divine Droplets sake and Neige Ice cider, to offer two examples. They’re probably upwards of 400 different beers at this point. They also offer weekly tastings of both wine and beer (check out the website for updated info), along with the occasional larger tasting event (the recent one included Ommegang, DFH, Troeg’s, etc... along with plenty of wines and cheese on the side). Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Friendly staff, reasonable diverse selection. Was notified of the locale based on the recommendation of the manager of the Gaithersburgh Dogfishhead Ale House.

Located in a fairly nice strip mall, this place is very nice on the inside with good-looking wood shelving, nice displays, and the best beer selection in Montgomery county. There’s a full isle devoted to quality beer (not macros) where I found plenty of great beer and variety. Walking down the isle I see Rogue, Boon, Cisco, Gales, and plenty others. I’d place my estimate at about 200 beers, but it’s difficult to judge. Staff was friendly and helpful, and what I assumed was the manager told me that he usually has bottles of beer and wine open for tasting (I was there on the 4th July weekend, so not on holidays). The one negative thing I can say about this place is that their prices are the highest in the area. This is probably due to Montgomery county MD laws, which are not friendly to the specialty shop, but it still hurts the checking account.
