kiefdog | Nice beer bar in the Boston area and definitely worth a stop when you are in the area. Much nicer and newer than other beer bars with an impressive selection of american craft and imported offerings on tap and in the bottle. Reminded us of the Oldsmar Tap House in Tampa, FL, another highly rated beer bar. Draft offerings included German smokebeer, Victory, Allagash, Unibroue, Mayflower, Avery, DFH (120 minute on tap?!?), La Rulles, Affligem, North Coast and many others. Bottle selection was also impressive. Did not eat on this trip, but the food looked good.

| Beese | This place probably wasn’t quite as good as I thought it was going to be, well it didn’t live up to the hype I built up in my head. However I still thought it was definitely worth the visit. Quite early afternoon when I went in, just a couple of punters in there, the beer list wasn’t extensive, but they had some top quality brews on there, although it wasn’t so perfect from my point of view as the list seemed more geared towards European imports, which being a European out to try some US beers wasn’t quite what I was hoping for. A bit pricey for me to have too many beers in there, bit of a shame that they don’t sell the beers in smaller measurements, it limited the amount of beers I was able to try. Still worth checking out though.

mkgrenwel | Very cool beer bar. This is my kind of place. Selection is definitely about quality over quantity. The food is good enough that I’d go there to eat even without the beer selection, which I wouldn’t say of many beer places at all. The waitstaff and clientele are tattoed hipsters that actually seem to be into good beer. They can be very cool and friendly, unless you’re trying to order a Bud Light. I give another strong vote for Deep Ellum over Sunset.

notalush | Nice pub atmosphere inside - when I walked in and saw the indie-rock chick bartenders, and heard Joy Division on the stereo, it felt like home - well-selected taps, with a mix of imports and regionals (don’t come looking for rare stuff from far-off states, but you’ll find nothing but quality offerings) - the bottle list was well-selected, and well-priced (18 bucks for a 750 of Speedway Stout, at a bar!) - great people working, great vibe inside - what more could you ask for - yes, you’ll find a more impressive selection at Sunset Grille down the block, but that place is so damn crowded, and busy, and obnoxious - trust me, you’d rather come down here and relax - you might not squeeze any new ratings in, but you’ll have a nice time. (slightly personal note - it’s right next door to a couple of decent vegetarian restaurants - not good, just decent.)

Dickinsonbeer | Clark is right. Max, the owner and bartender is a really nice dude who knows good beer. Willblake, Bstill and I went in there and loved the selection and food. It is only a few blocks from Sunset Grille, so it is definitely worth going to both- and Id actually come back to Deep Ellum before Sunset. Good location, very clean and new, long bar and ample seating for getting some food. 20 regular taps, 2 nitros for stouts, and 1 cask. Not a bad beer among the entire lineup. Everything on tap is something that I would have drank. A good portion of the taps are locals like haverhill, cisco, berkshire, and a few others. Food was very well made, and not expensive at all. Bottle selection was really good too, but we were too busy trying a bunch of beers on tap. Awesome place- recommended to anyone travelling in Boston.

ClarkVV | Awesome place. One of the friendliest bartenders (also a co-owner) I’ve met. Food looks great, though I had none. Will be back to try it. Fantastic beer and cocktail menu. Lots of great German stuff.
