| ClarkVV (89), Allston, Massachusetts | | February 22, 2006 Been here once with OldGrowth. Lovely looking place, ambiance is an easy five in part for the tasteful interior and exterior and the lack of any cheesy decor, with a laid back atmosphere and a historic building to boot. Service was good at the bar, couldnt complain, while the beer selection, for this area was actually surprising. Berkshire and nutfield, with a couple German hefe/pils on tap. Fine veggie cheese melt, and the rest of the menu looked very interesting (perhaps a little too meat heavy). Would definitely go again. | | OldGrowth (104), Cary, North Carolina | | August 11, 2005 [ Updated September 12, 2006 ] Old Inn in Ashland, rumored to be haunted. Has colonial influence about it. I’ve had some slow service here, but always friendly. Nice little patio area. Not a huge selection, but always something tasty. Off hand what I remember from my last visit. Guiness, Murphy’s stouts, Harpoon IPA, Hacker Pschorr, Anchor Steam. Had some Berkshire, Nutfield in bottle. Never had a bad meal here. Good grilled cheese, burgers. Fine dining has always been good, though I forget what I had the last time I ate in the dining room. Went to a wine tasting here once. Can accomadate larger groups. |
