| chriso (161), London, England | | November 25, 2009 Fairly standard Rock Bottom. Useful downtown location. Rather identikit brewpub feel but that is not limited to the chains - plenty of independent brewoubs have it too. Beers are OK but nothing startling. Popped in a couple of times when I was in the area for a pint and a bar snack (cheap during 2.30 - 5.30 "happy hour"). I’d go back if in the area. | | PilsnerPeter (95), Flushing, New York | | June 21, 2009 Typical tourist beer spot- high ceilings insode- dimly lit and clean. More of a restaurant than brewpub. The food is decent, and the prices are fair. I ordered the sampler, and the beers are sub par, perhaps one or two are mediocre. Not a place to go out of the way for, but it’s got some ratings! | | GeneralGao (220), Iowa City, Iowa | | April 27, 2009 Located in the Theater District a few blocks off The Common. Typical Rock Bottom. They all look the same. Clean and corporate. I think their beers tend to be pretty good, although the barley wine I had in Boston was just okay. I didn’t eat any food here, but the menu is fairly standard from franchise to franchise. They had 8 house beers the day I visited with 2 cask offerings. | | Russo (17), Campinas, Brazil | | August 2, 2008 A common bar, nothing extraordinary, the first beer was cold and nice served, but the second one, was warm, that is a shame! I really didn’t like that. (Shea’s extra stout). After this, I move out to another bar.. | | Beese (50), Watford, England | | July 4, 2008 [ Updated September 5, 2008 ] This is to date the only Rock Bottom joint I’ve been into and I wasn’t all that taken with it, if I’m honest. The general atmosphere of the place was definitely lacking something, it was very busy and very impersonal. I had a selection of their beers, which was perhaps a little steep on the price. Most of the beers I had were fairly uninspired, at best they were fairly good, while others were definitely weak. I didn’t eat, so I can’t judge it on that front. | | Tweety (10), Vancouver, Washington | | April 28, 2008 Decent beers on tap, brewed in-house. Nothing too exciting. What I had of their food was unremarkable, but edible. | | wcampbell (10), Central, South Carolina | | March 16, 2008 I had the sampler first. The beer was very dissapointing. They didn’t have anything over 5% alcohol. Even the IPA was a little watery. The food was really good though and not that expensive for Boston. | | mkgrenwel (49), Cambridge, Massachusetts | | January 2, 2008 It’s a Rock Bottom, what else can I say. Beer was fine, but standard stuff. Ambiance is OK, but you are entirely aware that you’re inside a chain brewpub. I only came in because I was in the immediate area with time to kill, which is about what it deserves. Thik of it as beer purgatory. It’s not that good, but not that bad, just kinda there. | | ajm (161), Los Angeles, California | | November 30, 2007 [ Updated August 14, 2008 ] The place is not deep so you can see the street from basically anywhere: not my thing. I was there at the end of summer: not the best time for premium taps. Will re-rate when I go when it’s cold. |
