October 20, 2009 Basically a family restaurant ambiance- quite congested and noisy. The service however is prompt, friendly and helpful. I received a sampler with four of the beers I hadn’t tried from Boston Beer Works yet, and it was very fairly priced. They have a variety of style, none of which are great, but they’re standard for a ’touristy’ brewpub. Especially with this location during Halloween- being that Salem has that ambiance. The Scottish Ale they had up at the time was actually decent- had the peat character I look for in the style. I worthy stop, if you hapen to be in the town of Salem. Other than that, if you have to tick the Boston Beer Works stuff, go to either Canal Street or Fenway locations. |

May 8, 2008 The wife and I love to travel up to Salem at least every other year if we can when visiting New England. Hit the Beer works every time. Like the Pumpkin Head Ale and great selection at this one. More of a Micro Brewery Halloween ambiance going on. Food and service great. Just really like Salem and the whole Halloween vibe up here. |

February 11, 2008 I was lucky enough to go to this location a few weeks before Halloween. The town must celebrate all year round. Great tourist attraction with a brewpub. One of the brewers happen to be doing some cleaning while my friends and I entered so the geeks we are chatted with him for a bit and got to sample a new sour red theaved right out of the barrels. Nice, love when that happens. We stayed for some samplers some pints, some darts and shared a few bottles with the brewer. Name escapes me. Really big place, food looked good, we didn’t eat. Lots of tv’s and high celings. Fun place and can hold a lot of people so yo ucan go with a group. |

January 1, 2008 Visited Halloween 2006. Nice big open place, lots of TV’s. I remember everyone was drinking the pumpkin ale which was good. Nice food selection, good friendly service, good nachos. I really enjoyed my time there and can’t wait to go back! |

April 23, 2007 Industrial brew pub feel with a nice open dining room and large bar. Nice location in Salem MA. Friendly service. Was here for lunch and orderd a burger with fries. Very good and also tried some of my sons pizza which was good also. 12 beers on tap. They usually have a total of 14 which is a lot for a brewpub like this. Big food menu as well. In general the beers tended to be on the water side. But were still decent. |

March 7, 2007 I live in Salem and I go down to the Beer works every chance I get. most of the food is pretty good, but the two entrees that really shine are the baby back ribs and the beer basted steak tips. the ribs are so tender that the meat falls off the bone and the steak tips will melt in your mouth. The beer is pretty damn good too. when it is in season I like to get the pumpkin head, the blusberry and watermellon are great in the summer, and there a ton of others that are worth drinking. The place is a little on the pricey side, but both the food and the beer is worth it.

September 29, 2006 Went here with Stegosaurus as part of our Boston/Salem tour. Every thinghe says below is 100 % accurate. Sampled every beer looked at the mini brewery they had there. The brick oven pizza was a bit dissapointing though.
Good place to visit. Thanks to stegosaurus for the good find. |

September 29, 2005 I visited Salem Beer Works the eve of Halloween, which of coarse made an interesting night in Salem. A popular place to have a couple beers with friends. Average beers, though worth the stop if in Salem. |
