bbourque1976 (4), Laveen, Arizona does not count - explanation | | December 31, 2008 This place has a good selection and has changed a lot since the Dive re imaged and the Abbey opened. A little pricey though as they charge 15.00 for the Banana Bread beer, which is 10.00 at the Abbey. | Redseal94 (5), Lafayette, Indiana does not count - explanation | | March 4, 2008 IMO this place has the best selection in Woosta. I like the acoustic sets at night for some laid back music, but the place can get loud. Service is OK as well as food. | | eaglefan538 (90), Wilmington, Delaware | | January 18, 2008 Well, the beer scene in Worcester isn’t all that stellar, so this one is relatively speaking a pretty good stop if you’re in need of some beer while in Woousta’. Service was snooty and unfriendly. The selection was pretty solid, multiple taps and lots of bottles. The scenery was a little run down and beat up, but if you’re looking more for a bar than a restaurant, this isn’t a bad place to go. Food, can’t speak to it, but I can’t imagine it was all that good. Lock the doors on the way here from the WPI campus, though. | stoutman73 (1), worcester, Massachusetts does not count - explanation | | February 19, 2007 The food definitely needs to be worked on here. The selection of beer was far from being impressive. How about a frosted glass for the beers! | | DYCSoccer17 (187), Davis, California | | April 19, 2006 Stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon. There were a couple of old, retired "regulars" at the bar. There are a few plasma screens with the whole sports bar/keno bar motif. There were quite a few taps, but nothing extraordinary. Mostly local micros. I did find the Harpoon 100 Barrel-Series Kellerbier on tap there, though. I had a turkey wrap with fries, which was adequate. Service was decent as well. I don’t likethe fact that they call themselves a "brew house" though...kinda misleading. | Beerfactor (4), Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | May 28, 2005 Stopped by on a Saturday evening, just before the crowds hit. Nice ambiance, friendly people. The beer selection was better than most, 30+ beers on tap with a decent bottle selection to boot. Although we just had appetizers; Pizza/salad/soup, the food was great and the service was excellent.
If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth stopping by. | vwsteggie (8), Paxton, Massachusetts does not count - explanation | | April 4, 2004 O.K. draft beer selection that doesn't not change too often. The bottled selection is pretty impressive, but I can just get those in a store. Food is average also. Parking is pretty bad in the evenings. | | OldGrowth (107), North Carolina | | January 24, 2004 [ Updated October 13, 2008 ] Not a bad place, but not great either. Too many Keno types. It is Worcester after all. Will usually have some combo of Magic Hat, Sam Adams, Berkshire, Wachusett, occassional McNeills. Guiness, Boddingtons, Murphy’s, Most of the time I’ve gone at least a Lindemanns of some sort. Is close to Worcester commuter rail station so it could be done from Boston without a car. Sit at the bar for better service, though some bartenders don’t know a thing about beer. Beer is always too cold IMO. Food is Ok, but never had anything great either. Better places to eat on Shrewsbury st. |
