Arrived to find a fairly crowded restaurant, but we were able to get a table immediately because there were only two of us. Some pretty interesting architecture. We had a moment of difficulty finding the front door, hehe. Friendly and attentive service. Really a lot of great tap selections. Good bottle selection from what I was able to determine, but lack of an up-to-date list limits my ability to judge their bottle selection. Food can’t be argued with: everything was great. I had the beef brisket and judged that it didn’t need any sauce, but all four sauces I tried were great and added a nice variety to my dinner. Both of the sides (black beans and mac and cheese) were also outstanding. I had a great time here.

excellent food. good service. looks brilliant. all 20 taps are good beers. bootle selection is diverse and interesting, mant regional selections, including leelanau and jolly pumpkin. best in michigan, if not the whole midwest US. wine is outstanding too. ask for putnam.

Best BBQ I’ve ever had inside a really well designed space. Stacked with some fine taps from the Great Lakes region. Nothing rare on tap or in bottles, but everything is above average, for sure. Not to be missed.

Great place my buddies and I visit before we go see the Yankees beat the Tigers. The food is great and plentiful. Nothing beats a huge pile of meat on your plate and their custom bbq sauces are good. The beer selection is excellent. They have something like 16-20 taps (sorry didn’t count) that are all top quality beers... no fizzy yellow stuff. They keep all local breweries on tap... Bells, Great Lakes, New Holland, Founders, Arcadia.... and their staff is usually well versed and able to help you decide on what you like. Bottle selection is also good, with things like Goose Island Bourbon County Stout, you can’t go wrong. My favorite place in the detroit area.

What a little gem in what seemed to be a very run down area. Walk inside though and the clean wood decor and packed house was amazing to see. Food was very good and the menu was just simple which was great, we had pulled pork and the mac ’n cheese and 5 bbq sauces to choose from one being apple bbq was a top 5 sauce in my mind. Beer list was very good and they even had some bottled stuff. I will be back next time I’m in Detroit, this cured my Kuhnhenn hangover perfectly.

simply amazing! i had two hennepin’s on tap and the half chicken. i didnt adulterate it with sauce (though they offered me 5 options, all made there) and got mac and cheese and green beans for my two sides. $27 w/ tip. probably 14 taps plus a cask, and a huge bottle list with plenty of belgians. it was packed on a wednesday afternoon 1 hour after opening, i was lucky to get a seat at the bar within 10 minutes. those waiting for tables were not so lucky. but its worth the wait. a must see in motor city.

I fell in love with this place immediately. It is in a super crappy part of Detroit, by the old Tiger’s Stadium. We did have to wait a bit, but who cares, this place is awesome. Farily small inside. Great ambiance, had a Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere while I waited. Great tap selectin overall. Then we ate. The food here is amazing. Barbeque was awesome and the sides were delicious. This place is a must see if you can get in. I know I will be back.

Holy god! The two things I love most, in one building! Barbecue and great beer! Excellent service. A little cramped of a space, but you expect that for a Friday night. Must-see for Detroit.

Probably the best bottle selection in the city. Always something good on tap as well. I really miss this place. The food is excellent. I’d go home stuffed every time. A must for anybody visiting Detroit. It is across from the Michigan Train Station.

I agree with others who have written. Well worth the drive from the airport. After spending the day talking my flight crew into going with me, I was hoping I wouldn’t be put to shame. We were all impressed not only with the great food, but the beer selection as well. Liz, our server, knew what she was talking about and did a great job. The beer menu is even broken up into categories with a little description of each one which is helpful in determining which one you want. They also had four Bell’s brews on tap which is always a plus! My only compaint is that I wish they had more on tap along with the great selection of bottles.
