DannyV (1), houston, Texas does not count | | February 21, 2007 What would Detroit be without the Town Pump Tavern!? Sean Harrington is an Entrepeneural genius, makes the place work. The drinks, food and beautiful staff are always a pleasure. You couldn’t ask for a better experience anywhere else in the city of Detroit with all of the pre and post game craziness! | | mstockton (18), Beverly Hills, Michigan | | September 17, 2006 [ Updated April 14, 2007 ] A great bar...Detroit needs more like this. Cool, old wood-panelled walls that speak of a classier time. However, this place is definitely a drinkers’ bar. Good draft selection with lots of domestics and foreign brews on tap. Food is better than typical bar food. It gets VERY loud and crowded in here on weekends and before games. Don’t go here expecting to get quick food service or a table if you arrive within an hour of a game. Worthwhile... | | Tmoney99 (209), Cincinnati, Ohio | | December 22, 2005 Stopped her before the Bengals vs Lions football game. Corner location past the Fox and Hockeytown. Older location that looks like the reading room of an older hotel. wood panel and wood bar with seating at tables for food and drink. Service was as freindly as a busy game day can be. Good football crowd. 20 taps and 23 bootles on beer list. Good Michigan selection and macros in bottle. Pub sandwiches for the game day with good selection and sides. Interesting location, but other choices within three blocks. | | jtw (26), farmington, Michigan | | July 11, 2005 i stopped by because it had a cool name, and i had to kill some time before the tigers All-Star weekend events. turned out to be well worth it, with a clean classy feel, the crowd was mostly other baseball fans there for the events as well. around 20 taps, with bell’s amber and the seasonal oberon, motor city nut brown ale, SNPA, some other craft brews from around the country, boddington’s, some macros. cheapest pitcher was molson canadian at $8.50.
did not eat or look at a menu, but i would imagine that it has standard pub food.
if you don’t feel like walking to detroit brewing company before or after a tigers or lions game (or concert), definitely walk to the town pump. |
