Nice location on the river, which is nice to look at from the bar. Beer is decent, but nothing worth hunting out, if you’re in the area stop by, don’t make a special trip. The bar area is pretty small, but it wasn’t very packed on a Saturday night either, so maybe it is enough. I think this place is first and foremost a restaurant, but I didn’t go eat though.

On the Black River, good place to sit outside if it is in the summer. The food is good. The service is good. Still smoking in the bar. The beer used to be good about five years ago. If you go get the homemade root beer. If you get the beer, get the sampler to find out if they even have a beer that would be drinkable

Took a one hour drive on a sunny day to check this place out, have a bite to eat and enjoy a few beers. The place itself is nice enough, the back patio is on a canal which is pleasant, but not the greatest view really. Shared the Chicken Picatta, it was good, nothing particularly great but good enough to warrant the price. The beer itself was a teerrrrible disappointment, and I wasn’t expecting it to be anything more than average for a restaurant microbrew! I had the pale, raspberry wheat, maibock and a couple others. All of them were disastrous and literally a struggle to even finish. We kept hoping one would be good... but they were all far below mediocre. I’m not even a beer snob, they simply were COMPLETELY unenjoyable. A good enough place for a decent plate of food, but I’d get an iced tea.

Nice atmosphere, usually live jazz. It has an upscale but still casual feel. The food is delicious, I have never been dissapointed. The beer is not bad, but not spectacular. Their best is the pale ale, its solid and goes well with their food. As far as port huron goes, this is close to the tops you’ll find. Give it a try.

One of the nicer places in the Port Huron area. Attractive building with a comfy atmosphere. Upstairs is nice for dining and often has live piano or other strings. The deck is very nice in the summer. Food is quite good and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the beer is below average and as someone said before, the crowd is also.

Stopped here for lunch in mid-July 2006 on my way to the UP. Nice classy-looking place with a sort of muted Mediterranean vibe, pleasant patio area over the river and with a view of the drawbridge on the next block. Very reasonable prices and the soup/half sandwich combo I had wasn’t bad....beer unfortunately was rather poor with nothing really rising above "OK". Some diacetyl problems and just overall blandness. Ehhh.

I tell you want if you want a nice relaxing lunch/dinner and you are near the Port Huron area this is a must stop. was there 8/13/06 had early dinner around 3 I thought I was doing the early bird in florida, I had the brewers chicken the wife had fish & chips I did the sampler 6 beers on tap at the time. sitting outside next to the Black river and watching the boats coming and going was very relaxing. The beer was ok to good, nothing to wow a RB but good enjoyed both wheats since I had been driving a good 6 hrs this day very refreshing. will go back. the why they bring the sampler is nice , they have a place mat with the beers they make and they place sampler on the picture of the beer

Not a bad looking place. But the crowd is pedestrian and the beers are horrible. Stay away.
