| Glouglouburp (142), Montreal, Quebec | | July 16, 2008 Restaurant-pub. At least this one doesn’t look and feel like a sports bar. Family-friendly during the day (that’s when I visited) and given its nice layout I can hardly imagine this being a party place at night. Meal and beer is what it is all about. Big fermenters behind the bar with the name of the current beers on each of them. Nice touch. Food menu goes a bit beyond the typical burger/pizza. They have quite a few pasta dishes and other goodies. But mostly everything on the $10 range so this is not a fancy place to eat. Unless they have a different menu at night. My Grilled Chicken Quesadilla was excellent. Seven beers on tap when I was there. I went with a pint of each of the two most interesting to me (their IPA and a new Belgian Strong called Suicide Blonde) and I was very happy with both of them. Their beers seem to be quite popular with the locals cause during the two hours I was there I saw many people coming in and out to get their growlers filled. I don’t blame them, this make solid beer. I recommend visiting this place for the food and the solid beers early and then go to Black Lotus not too far away for a more pub-like night. | | sliffy (86), Columbus, Ohio | | October 24, 2007 Was here in early October, cozy wooden bar. Seemed more of a sports bar combined with a brew pub. Selection was solid, 5 of their beers on at the time. I got the sampler, The food was pretty good, standard pub fare really. Service was good, nice waitress, either a manager or brewer stopped by to see how we were liking the beers. It was a nice stop. | | Hawksfan17 (41), Conshohocken, Pennsylvania | | June 7, 2007 Went here in late April...not a bad place. It seemed to be the local sports hangout. The jerk chicken sandwich really hit the spot. The beer was not very good however. | | punkrkr27 (15), Clawson, Michigan | | June 10, 2006 Decent brew pub. Very good food. You must try the brewers bread! Thier beers are decent, but nothing amazing. Staff is somewhat helpful, but sometimes a little busy which means you might not always get the best service. They know a little bit about thier beers, but serve everything in frozen cold glasses. The patio in the back is a nice place to hang out on a warm summer day. | | hopdog (176), Lansdale, Pennsylvania | | May 8, 2006 Sat at the bar and didn’t order food. They don’t serve a sampler although the sell 5oz glasses for $1.25/ea. 7 beer on tap at the time I went. Brewer even came out to see how I was enjoying the beer. Worth a stop by! |
