thejoeshow (7), Saint Paul, Minnesota does not count | | June 18, 2008 From the exterior you would think this place only sells wine but you are in for a nice treat on the beer selection they have too! They pretty much have everything you’d be looking for minus a couple of things here and there. You can almost bet that if it is in the market they have it. The staff is wonderful too, no one trying to show you how knowledgeable they are AND they are willing to sit and talk beer with you, if you want. The prices are average at worst, and really good at best. Pretty much everything beer shoppers need. | WisconsinBeer (4), St Paul, Minnesota does not count | | March 11, 2008 The store itself isn’t very large, so the selection isn’t huge. However, there seem to be some beer geeks that have started working here lately, because the beers seem to keep improving. Selection rotates, but it seems that you can always score something mildly hard to find here. Not a go out of your way type place, but a definite stop if you’re in the area. | | LawStudent09 (58), Saint Paul, Minnesota | | October 22, 2007 Nice little store. The staff was more than willing to answer my questions and help me find what I was looking for. Not a huge selection but what they have is good stuff (some Bells, Avery and Rogue as well as a few imports and Minnesota brews). | | JK (95), Twin Cities, Minnesota | | April 10, 2007 A nice enough store, upscale appearance and focused on wine. I would describe the selection as quite small, but they have some good things in the rotating selection. Worth stopping by if you are in the neighborhood. | | Stine (57), St. Paul , Minnesota | | February 17, 2007 On the corner of Grand and Prior, so it’s not that bad of a drive for you folks across the river. Highlights: port, sherry, and calvados aged J.W. Lee’s, along with several vintages of harvest ale. Aged Aventinus - 2002 and 2003. They had 2005 V12 but now it’s mine. Select expensive sixers broken up into singles which is thoughtful. Superior sake choices. To be expected: Slightly above-par Belgian, German, and English selection and out-of-state 22 oz. selection. All in all a very worthwhile shop with some unique choices. |
