Interesting brick building in a lovely old downtown setting. Moderately busy for a Thursday lunch. My waitress was very attentive and on the ball. 6 regular beers plus a seasonal on tap.Beers were solid - in this setting you don’t look to find extreme beers. I’ll go back next time I’m in the area.

Good beers, good food. The place would be great, but it always seems to be dead when I go. What’s worse is that the service is pretty bad considering that no one else is there. People are nice, just not attentive. Ever. Food is decent, although unspectacular. Beer is more than decent as they usually have at least 6 to choose from.

Visited for lunch, had the taster, a pizza and a starter salad. The highlight of the trip was the ranch dressing. Not to knock on everything else, but it was really good ranch dressing. The interior of the building is nice, very well done. The beer is ranges from good to half-@ss brewpub fare. The pizza was tasty, and all ingredients seemed quite fresh. Parkville is a nice town, and worth a visit. If you are in the area, Power Plant is worth stopping by.

Interesting location as others have mentioned, particualrly when a train goes by at 50mph and the whole place just rumbles and shakes. Menu prices are a bit on the high side, but the food is certainly decent. Beers run the gamut from fairly tasty to uninspired. Not sure if I’d say it’s worth a trip up from the southern parts of the K.C. just to come here, but if you’re remotely close it’s worth a trip occasionally. I have to knock them a bit for selection as there is not typically much here for someone like me to choose from at all.

This is a unique brewpub. It used to be the heating steam plant for the Park College (now Park University). It is next to the railroad tracks since coal fueled the boilers. One of the boiler casings still exists behind the main bar. The old coal room is now full of booths and tables occupy the catwalks in the overhead. The rooftop deck is great during a Summer evening. There is plenty of free parking just across the tracks. The food here is standard pub grub and is reasonably priced. I was the brewer here in 1999 and the brews were excellent back then. The current brews are rather lackluster and mundane and needing improvement.

A nice small tourist area. A wide open atmosphere with bricks and a train track right next door. There was no BMC on tap that I could see. The beer was a good temperature, but poor smapling glasses. Also, as a whole, the beers were average to below average.

This place is actually and old power plant that powered the city of Parkville. Sits right next to the train tracks. The food is the reason to go. The beer is avarage at best, and service is hit and miss.

May 2005: Some of the worst beer’s I’ve every tried. Cool setting, but otherwise I could pass.
