| GJF (22), Cedar Rapids, Iowa | | June 15, 2009 I enjoyed this place. The beers are generally straightforward--not great, but very drinkable. We had good service here, drank some good beers, and would certainly come back. | | Illinijs (11), | | February 10, 2009 This is a great brewpub especially for St. Louis. Selection is limited as they only sell their own tap beer, but selections change frequently. Great brewpub atmosphere. | | dm9831 (30), Monee, Illinois | | February 1, 2009 i sat at the bar, drinking samples for a few lively hours on a saturday afternoon. although i met the brewmaster, he did not stop to talk. the wait staff was not unfriendly, but neither were they outgoing, and i am not sure how knowledgable they were. for me, it’s all about the beer, and there was no beer menu available, now abv’s or ibu’s documented, and no description of the beers available, just one-word names on a chalk board. all that being said, the beer wsa decent enough to warrant another visit if they release another beer in the next few weeks, while i am stuck here in st. louis. | | Strykzone (40), Wood River, Illinois | | September 10, 2008 Went on a Saturday evening and found it to be one of the nicer brewpubs I have visited. Food was excellent, service good, staff was well informed of their beers. We ate in the outside area which was quite nice on a pleasant night. | | JoeinUccle (138), Brussels, Belgium | | August 20, 2008 Pretty classy little pub, even if the beers are no longer made on premises. Not exciting but still very solid beers, just like its sister brewpub down in Augusta. Plenty of beer choices. Had an American Mild that was so refreshing they ought to give it to high school football players instead of Gatorade. Nice looking bar. | | BeerandBlues2 (157), Colorado Springs, Colorado | | July 22, 2008 Very noisy place close to 33 and Bailey’s. The staff is fairly attentive and helpful the food is good. There were eleven house beers on during my visit and the grazing plate served as a worthy appetizer to accompany the beers. | | BrewCzar (19), St Louis, Missouri | | June 16, 2008 [ Updated July 12, 2008 ] Great brewpub near Lafayette Square in South St Louis. Good variety beers brewed by Square One Brewery (AKA Augusta Brewing). About half a dozen standard beers and 4+ seasonals at any given time. Probably the best menu of any brewpub in St Louis. Afterward find your way a few block west to Baily’s Chocolate Bar for desert, or a great selection of bottled beer. | | heemer77 (171), Savannah, Missouri | | June 8, 2008 Cool location with an outdoor wall fountain waterfall thing. I sat with a friend outside and even though it was hot out, with a breeze blowing, we were comfortable. The inside of the bar was about as neat a set up as I have seen. Lots of natural wood and good view of the patio. The beers I tried were decent and I liked the food. My only real problem with this place was the large 6 oz. samplers. More than I wanted for sample sizes. They are trying for a little more upsacle food types. I will definitely check this place out again next time I am in St. Louis. | | esjaygee (103), Oak Creek, Wisconsin | | May 28, 2008 Interesting building. Glass has been put in various places throughout the brewpub so you can see the inner workings of the brewery. The glass on the floor in the dining area is a nice touch. The building itself appears to be in an older section of town that has been restored and seems pretty nice. The bar does allow smoking, which is a slight detraction. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable and provided us with beer list with descriptions… nice. The sampler was four six ounce glasses for $6, nice size and value combo. I was able to sample 8 of the 11 offerings the brewpub had to offer and was quite impressed, no bad beers in the bunch. My wife ordered a chocolate brownie that was excellent. | | kwoeltje (50), Manchester, Missouri | | February 11, 2008 Lovely old building with nice decor. I haven’t been able to sit in the beer garden yet, but it looks nice. Service is friendly and prompt. They have 6 regular beers (if I recall) and about as many seasonals available. Recently they added a beer pump for cask ales, but those aren’t always available. Menu is typical - appetizers, salads, sandwiches and burgers, a diverse selection of entrees, also a fair number of deserts. |
