I accidentaly ran into this brewpub. Except their own beer, usual selection of belgian and dutch bottled beers. I was there about 10p.m. and there was too many people so the staff were slowly.

Large pub @ the Nieuwmarkt, decent selection of beers, lots of space, small terrace outside. Nice place for a dinner with friends to enjoy some good beers or nice housebeers and an OK meal. Food is not great, but decent.

Large pub with friendly staff and beery ambiance. We had air to breathe in here, and you can’t say that about many pubs in Amsterdam. Enjoyed a glass of the above-average and refreshing Blonde Ros. Unfortunately they served us possibly the worst chips and salsa we’ve ever had. She should have known better than to order that in Europe anyway.

Nice place. The beers are allright, the food not fantastic but OK regarding the price. A place to visit if you really want rare beers.

Nice, Dutch pub with a dark wooden look. Quite big, with lots of seating, and usually very loud with conversation. Has wifi, good food, and a decent selection of Belgian beers. Service is OK. Definitely a nice place to go, and good for large groups, but there’s more beer to be had elsewhere.

A popular spot close to the city centre and Red light area. One of those places where loads of customers will be standing by the bar chatting while almost all the tables are empty. It makes a friendly atmosphere. Their own beers were less than satisfying though, rather generic and they really should be the reason not to simply go to Arendsnest for the Xth time, but they don’t make it worthwhile I must say.

Sat on the patio and loved it. One of the nicest places in Amsterdam, in the direct neighborhood of the red light district. Service can be slow, and the quality of the beers can differ. Also some good Belgians on the card.

This is a nice place. Large but also crowded so plan to wait if you come in the evening. The brew kettles are in full view. The bar is dimly lit. Some smoke but not too much of it. The food was actually good. I tried the chicken stew and another dish with a name I can’t remember, but it was mashed potatos with carrots and onions and a smoked sausage on the side. Service was adequate, I was with a local who did all of the ordering in Dutch. Besides their house beers, you can find the other offerings elsewhere.

Hmmm. Had a few new beers here but it was pretty minimal. Service was quick and attentive but clear they know little about beer and not really interested. Food looks to be very good but didn’t taste. As of July 2007 - had all the beers they have to offer.

Located on one of the town markts, the inside is comfortable and wooden. They put their brewing equipment on show in the back, and overall they have a nice, shiny, low-ceilinged bar. Had the witte and ambre when I visited; the witte was exceptional but the ambre was not so impressive. Worth visiting, family friendly and all that - seemed like a good place to eat, though we had just eaten down the street.
