Very nice place, great atmosphere, very friendly service, huge selection of american beers. Only the music was not our cup of tea, but the atmosphere definitely made up for that. Visit if you are in the neighborhood!

Visited here Oct 09. Dropped into this place on a midweek early/mid afternoon, it was fairly quiet only one or two others. Barman was very friendly and helpfully suggested different beers. We went for a couple of the house beers, and as I recall I did have an American beer (forgot which one) Prices are a little steep especially for some of the bigger bottles but then when I discussed this it would appear that there really wasn’t a lot of diffecence between what you would pay here and what you might pay in one of the specialist beer shops, so what do I know and besides they are likely to be shared amongst a small group. I enjoyed this bar and think it will quite soon become a well established placfe to drop into on the Amsterdam pub/bar circuit.

I could not add anything to the entry by skortila. We have to see how it evolves as a beer bar, but I certainly hope this is a step in the good direction for dutch fans of american styled beers. Skortila: Place visited together with Caesar at a quiet sunday afternoon. Cosey place, Peter himself as barman, so good talk about beer. I was lookin forward to go to this place and it was fantastic. Loads of American beers, also some rare americans on tap, hard to get anywhere else in Europe. The standard templebeer is a perfect sessionbeer for a start. Prices are high for the dutch, but more than reasonable for beergeeks. I will definately visit again.

Nice place around the corner from Bierkonig. Not too loud music, beer pictures (mostly american breweries) on the walls. While considering what to try bartender brought me a sample of Flying Dog Raging Bitch Belgian-style India Pale Ale which was very good, so for the beginning I decided to order it. Some 20 tap beers with reasonable prices, but also few big bottled Americans that are quite expensive (for Croatian standard, but also reasonable if we know where they came from). All in all highly recomended place.

Great place with a lot of fantastic beers both on tap and in bottles. There is mostly american stuff but both belgian, danish stuff are to be found too. The prices are fair and the staff nice. The bar is made after american example - plain and simple with the beers in focus - just as it should be. When we were there...and we were there for a loong time they kept pushing the volume on the music - no need to say that that was a bad idea. Keep the music down - were here for the beers not to listen to Toto or U2.

I was pleased with this new bar, just minutes from De Bierkoning. Good portfolio of tap and bottled beers. Barmen was very friendly. He still has to work on his beer knowledge, but that is a question in putting in hours. Not too expensive, considering the trade prizes for these beers.

Visited the friday after opening with DSG and Ron Pattinson. Small entrance, I almost passed by it, but I was lured in by the bright blue neon Flying Dog sign inside. I don’t like neon lights, so my high expectations were already lowered. Ambiance is not quite there yet, but will improve for sure. Not much decoration on the walls yet, still a bit sober, but will also improve I think. Upstairs are some booths to sit. The bar looks nice, very American with all the tap handles closely spaced from each other. Beer selection on tap mainly consists of Anchor, Flying Dog and Great Divide, with the stars of their range present. Bottles are mainly hard to obtain Americans (for Holland, that is) and some Scandinavian and Belgian, mostly bitter/very bitter beers in American style. Staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. Prices were surprisingly low and thus very acceptable. This is a welcome addition to the Amsterdam beer scene, and I hope and think the atmosphere and interior will improve in time, and so will my rating.

Recently opened around the corner from the Bierkoning in the centre of Amsterdam. This place is a welcome addition to our city’s great beer culture. They have beers on tap here which are available nowhere else in that form, which is very good. They sell top-of-the-line American microbrewery brands (Left Hand, Great Divide, Southern Tier etc) mostly, and then some good Dutch, Danish and Belgian beers in bottles. What disappointed me is their non-American draft beer selection. All of it is boring standard stuff which you can get everywhere else. Probably a concession to the city centre drinking public. The shop window could use a bit more dressing up ... it just features a statue of liberty wrapped in a U.S. flag and some empty beer bottles lined up ... a bit uninspired. The ambience inside is better, and I especially liked the big photographs of breweries they have on display. Staff is nice and attentive and the prices are ok if you consider that most of the beers sold there are already insanely expensive if you buy them in the shop or even import them. I found it a nice touch of originality that they sell beer in glasses measured in American ounces (with centiliter translations). Furthermore they also have a house beer brewed at a local Dutch brewery, way to go!

I missed the opening night (which I heard was very enjoyable) but managed to pop in the next day. It has a very nice feel to it, lots of wood but also reminded me of a classic American diner with a Statue of Liberty and booths. It was great to see Peter behind the bar. There are lots of taps, not all of them active, serving up some Belgian beers but largely American ones. These will obviously rotate over time and as the clientelle picks up. But I was positively surprised by the considerable bottle list of American and Scandinavian beers--much more extensive than their website and with hard to get brewers like Three Floyds. I am sure I will be coming back here a lot. Tonight I only tried a Goose Island Honkers. They probably have 40 beers I haven’t tried yet.
