Nederlands Biercafe ‘t Arendsnest

Bar with only Dutch beers, some of them hard to get by, and a nice selection of aged beers. A bit pricy, but it comes with the concept I guess. The long bar is well lit, a bit too much light for my liking. A couple of larger tables at both sides of the bar. Everything looks very clean, even a bit sterile, except for the toilet after a beer tasting session. It hasn’t got the atmosphere of an old Amsterdam bar yet, but the’ll get there someday. Great selection of taps and bottles, staff know their beers and are very helpfull. Soft music in the background. Nice place to taste beer and relax from a day’s work.

This place only serves Dutch beer, it’s an interesting concept, but it really limits the possibility to have a lot of very good beers. Still, you can always find here decent beers, and the service is quite alright. Other than a few rarer beers prices are reasonable.

De betere pub in Amsterdam. Mooie line-up van bieren op vat. Het zit er verdomme wel vol van het volk, meestal outsiders. Professionele crew. Daar hou ik van.

The only downer is that it does not open until 4pm. The bar is rather new and slick, but the rest of the place is nicely woody and reasonably worn. Beer list is Dutch, and it is large. The bar guy was knowledgeable and helpful. The bar guy drinking on our side was colorful and talkative. Nice pours. Appropriate glasses. The draft beers seemed in good condition.

The Woman and I stopped in here for a couple on our way to dinner. The pub looked and felt distinctively Dutch, near as we could tell. It was packed but we managed to find a pair of stools at the bar. Didn’t notice the smoke at all, but I did notice a couple of fellows had removed to the front stoop to drink and smoke. Beers were well-poured and in good condition. Best selection of quality Dutch beers we found on our visit to Amsterdam.

Great place... awesome staff, nice beer cheese, a great selection of dutch beers and some random others. I found the client el fairly upscale by comparison to other places, not to loud either. I really enjoyed myself here.

Best café in the Netherlands! 23 beers on draft and very nice staff. They know everything about the dutch beers and breweries. I come back soon

Great selection and suggestions from the bartenders, but place is so smoky I couldn’t even appreciate the beer. Drinking beer in this country is a chore and I’m rapidly losing interest in it. Everywhere I go has a toxic atmosphere that is not only unhealthy and annoying, it seriously detracts from my ability to smell and taste the beer. I’ll just have to wait until the locals all die of lung cancer and then I can come back to the Netherlands and have a chance to try their beers in safety and peace.

Get the draught sampler of Dutch beers - it can be from 4 up. You’ll get a description of each beer you’re delivered (you’ll get them serially, not all at once). Knowledgeable staff, friendly, and definitely lovers of beer. After the 23 draught ones, there will be perhaps 120-150 Dutch bottled beers to choose from. Cross your fingers and hope that the American beer tourists that will be there won’t be the loud obnoxious type. Not too smoky, given the fact that it’s still a smoking country/venue. Go there early - and go there often. 2 nights was nowhere near enough for someone not already very familiar with Dutch beers. And a final re-emphasis - brilliant staff.
