Ambiance is nothing special, just racks of beer (which appeals to me). Service is absolutely outstanding, very knowledgeable staff that always offer some friendly advice. Selection is very good - lots of 6 packs, single bottles, 22ozers, imports, variety packs. Value is not that great, especially for the domestic 12oz bottles. But hey, it’s got the best selection of beers in the Albany area and the staff is excellent.

Since joining RB, this is one of those Northeastern shops I have wanted to visit and when I finally got there I discovered it was worth the wait. Easy to get to off I-90 with a left-right-and left turn into an unintrusive building with a small parking lot. But on the inside it is like entering a beer warehouse. The shelves are ten feet high and spread over 3-4 rows and fairly well organized. There is a single row of refrigerated beers. Price listings for case, six/four-pack, and singles are available on all brews. Great selection of New York and other Northeastern brews. They also boast a decent selection of California beers and Belgians. Most of the imports are the typical ones but there are the occasional surprises. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. It is 3 1/2 hours one-way for me but it is a nice reward for the long drive.

The Brew Crew rules! Like Mahar’s...Oliver’s makes living in Albany all the more bearable! They have a great selection of micro-brews to choose from. The crew is friendly and always in a good mood. I usually hit them up on Friday’s straight from work because they sometimes have cases of bargain beers, dirt cheap.

A warehouse of beers that feels more like a large wine/liquor store than a beer store. This has the largest selection I’ve seen in the Albany area. An excellent spot.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside...or the inside really. The selection is excellent. Almost everything you can get in upstate NY. Some rare stuff if you go in often enough to get it. But there are beers available downstate that don’t make it up here. The service is good. The guys know their stuff.

Eye-opening selection of domestics and imports. Truly mind-boggling, compared to what we have in Vermont. For example, nice to find Sprecher and Lagunitas, many NY state micros, and also the full range from Weiherstephaner and other German brewers. John was helpful, and great to talk with. Super store.

one of the better beer stores, wth lots of harder to get Cpt Lawrence, Alesmith, and UK in particular. COme during the daytime. Reasonable pices.

a good selection for upstate NY. Surprised that prices were not cheaper at all. Jolly pumpkin and sour stuff is abundant. There are a few things not available downstate, not enough though. Tap system had nice things including a tap only Keegan but you need to have an Oliver’s growler (wack!). Regular self layout, does not look pretty.

i have been meaning to put this review in here for a few weeks now. store was well laid out with most of the big players represented. found a few interesting imports and the staff was very helpful. the guy in the store would come by and grab what i had collected every so often so he could ring them up while i browsed for more. the owner came by and asked if i had found everything and said let him know if he could help with anything. walked out with over two cases of singles which the owner gave a nice percent discount on.

A good bottle shop, laid out like a warehouse. I’ve bought some great stuff here and some stuff that was WAY past it’s prime. Beware old bottles sitting on the shelves.
