March 13, 2008 Its a decent place to spend a night with your buddies. Got a laid back vibe: large wooden tables and benches make up most of the furniture, an LCD tv on a wall. Good beer selection, but make sure you know what the price of your beer is to escape unpleasant surprises (one bottle we ordered ran for $45). Good stick-to-your-ribs food, too, try the sausage combo. |
May 1, 2006 Finally went into this bar and was highly surprised. This bar is in my old neighborood in Gravesend, Brooklyn. There is nothing at this end of Brooklyn that resembles good beer so for that reason I never went in. Its been open for about 2 years and they have a large collection of beers. The 180 bottles are made up of lots of Belgians (nothing rare), some English (Sam Smith, Lees, etc.), belgian-style micros, and Eastern European beers. This bar sells like 6 different Baltika’s. This is mainly due to the neigborhood, which used to Italian but is slowly turning Russian. The taps are all german (i.e.Spatens) and a pilsner urquel. Again nothing special but a large selection in a dry part of town. The bar itself is beautiful. They have a fussball machine and lots of wooden benches, tables, bar with steins and signs on the walls. There is a patio in the back and they have food. Very quiet neigborhood, by 10 o’clock there is no one on the street. They don’t have a phone yet even. They serve beer in the proper glassware though. Again lots of good but not rare beers in a quiet, dry part of town. |
