Well maintained, friendly, very accommodating to families, tourists, and all kinds of folks. A must-visit in the area. I want to go back to sample more of the beers!

Great setting, inviting interior and nice large patio. Inside atmosphere is halfway between a pub a countryside restaurant. If you’re lucky (or unlucky) the owner/brewer will come to your table and give you his well rehearsed speech on “beer quality guarantee” (if you don’t like his beer just tell him and he will drink it for you). Quite funny actually. I liked the dude. 8 taps when we were there. Unfortunately the beer were at best ok (Double Hop IPA, Oatmeal Stout) to pretty bad (Scotch Ale). Food was a mix-bag too. My grilled chicken was so-so, the sweet potatoes were cut too thin but the Cheddar Stout Soup was nothing short of spectacular. I repeast: worth a visit if only for the Cheddar Stout Soup.

Nice sunny patio section. Great old bar, The brewery kettle had a brick façade built all around it, the tanks had wood paneling. If you only took a quick look, it looked ancient and nice, but if you pay a little more attention, it’s not very clean, it was covered with dust and cobwebs everywhere, fine and dandy when you’re brewing lambics, but maybe not so when you’re doing mostly British/American styles. The Beer list was posted on a large blackboard next to the bar, listed with %ABV and brewed on date, a fantastic idea! Beers were on average 2 months old.I went for the double IPA, so did most of the gang. I’ve had pale ales that were hoppier than this, and there was very little body to speak of. Those who chose something else weren’t impressed either. Our food came quickly and the soups absolutely floored us. My main course of crab cakes was okay but I’ve had better and cheaper. The citrus sauce it came with didn’t match too well. Those who took the bean burger liked it, the salads were fine and the chili was good but not great. So what’s the final verdict? I certainly didn’t hate the place, the overall ambiance is friendly and fun, and I should have asked for a growler of that soup, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get here just for the Beer.

The staff, the beer, the food and the venue areOutstanding. I travel around a bit and Richard has got to be one the most gracious host in the brewpub world. You gotta love his motto" If you don’t like your beer I’ll finish it for you" This is a must visit.

Stopped in on a Sunday evening. the outside tables were almost full but I was the only one at the bar. Had two of their beers, which were very good, and the seafood pot pie, which was excellent. Barmaid was affable. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

By far one of the most friendly, service oriented restaurant I’ve been to. When we arrived we were greeted by Rick Davidson, brewer/owner, he expidited our beer orders from the bar as if we were VIP invitees. He the gave us the "beer guarentee" and escorted us to our table. The service continued throughout the dinner and out the door. As we left Rick came back up to us to see how we enjoyed ourselves. Service was suberb......NOW ON TO THE BEERS. I started with a smoked porter which was very good. It was well balanced with only a subtle hop hint in the finish. The Belgium Tripel was exceptional, the fruity notes were perfectly balanced with notes of banana. The cream ale was also a good call, very creamy and well balanced. Several others in our group we pleased with their selections. Overall "2 thumbs up"

Visited on a Saturday night. Bustling dark bar and brewery with view of the brewery in the front. Had a nice sampler platter of 6 beers. 5oz samples were given. Beer was well-made and the chili was ok. The fries were above average and better than Pittsfield’s. Staff was average. A decent place with above average food and above average beer.

Stopped by on a hot August day and sat inside, despite the fact that the place was not air conditioned. Service was a little slow considering the place was empty but was friendly and very helpful. Ordered the six beer sampler and a sundae. Ice cream was excellent, but perhaps biased because of the intense heat. Beers were a pleasant surprise, none of them were mediocre and all left an impression. Atmosphere is "converted old warehouse" with farm implements on walls. Certainly worth the trip into Glens Falls!

By far the best brew pub all the way up to Lake Placid, and including the Capital District. However, in recent years, the owners success has stroked their egos quite a bit. Prices have gone to $4.50a/ Shaker pint.. When they started a few years ago, they had the best deal as far as food prices; now they are bordering on outright expensive! They still have M-F Happy hour $1.00 off 4pm-6pm. I generally continue to return for the beer, but I have got pissed-off at the staff/owners at times..Once, I ordered a "strong ale" that was listed with all the other beers on a blackboard; it turns out that this barrel was reserved from the previous year, and they charged me $6.50 for a 15oz pint, without telling me the cost up front! However, they recently changed their Growler policy so that they now will fill ANY growler for $9. Also, since they have so many wholesale customers accounts in the area, its not difficult to find their beers at other pubs/restaurants for CHEAPER than they sell it at the brewery ($3.50 is common). Despite my gripes, the beer remains top notch, with absolutely no compromise on quality in the years I’ve drank it. Best picks are the very pricey Scotch Ale; and the new Rye Cream; and the flagship IPA> ADDENDUM 8/06: Prices are now $4.50 for "Shaker Pint"! Go at happy hour, and bring your own empty growlers for the best "deal".

Good Prices. Great thick velvety cheddar and stout soup. Nice wood layout, beautiful terrace between 2 buildings receives light day well. Familial atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Nice place to stop by.
