biz82 (6), austin, Texas does not count - explanation | | July 3, 2005 Located in an old warehouse row in Rural NY about 45 min. from Manhatten. I was there to pick up some tanks I bought from them. They sure didn’t need them with all the tanks they had jammed in there. Super nice crew. One of the owners, Egon, practically forced everyone who walked thought the door to drink beer, including FedEX and my Roadway driver. He had a bit of a Willy Wonka thing going, explaining, "In New York we can’t sell beer to drink at the brewery so what do you think we do? WE GIVE IT AWAY!" he shouted gleefully. Jeff, a brewer from Portland, OR, is a nice guy too. | | MaiBockAddict (76), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey | | April 7, 2005 [ Updated May 19, 2005 ] Huge brewery with lots of tanks and a small and large brewing system. Nice bar and tap area for sitting and drinking samples. Jeff, the assistant brewer is very knowledgeable and friendly. The head brewer, John Calen, is also very friendly and accomodating. Go for a visit and tour! | | Lou18 (23), West Paterson, New Jersey | | January 19, 2005 All this info is wrong. They recently moved the brewery up the road a few miles to Hillburn. Head brewer John, along with Jeff, Dan, and everyone else, were great. they were so excited and shared brewing talk, hop talk, everything. They more than quadrupled their brewing ability look out for tours and new brews coming very soon. | | Yogi_Beera (104), Hamburg, Germany | | November 28, 2004 We were there in the middle of the day. Place was dark - no lights on, dark and weird atmosphere. Service was nice but as the taps weren’t marked the bartender had a hard time to figure out which of the beers is which. One of the service people smoked in the womens restroom which I really found yuckie. The beers all in all were not that good. | | DocLock (99), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania | | September 9, 2004 I got an 8-beer sampler, and thought they ranged from average to very good. The food selection was limited, as they were changing their menu, but my fish-and-chips were delicious. The bartender was great, also. Definitely worth a trip if you are in the area. | | Eyedrinkale (129), Beer Town, New York | | August 16, 2004 Could be the highest concentration of minors I have ever seen in a bar. Most of their stuff is on tap and the IPA is also available in bottles, which I liked better than the draft version. They have BMC as well on tap (I know you are happy to know that). Live music most nights of the week. Nothing too special here. |
