| Chapel (16), Levittown, New York | | July 31, 2007 [ Updated October 26, 2009 ] This is a great place if you like Long Island music, however, the music might be a bit loud if you just want to sit and enjoy a beer. There is now music every day. The service was pretty good. I almost never had to wait for the bartender to come to me even though he was the only one on in a crowded area. The beer selection includes their own creations (which are all pretty decent) and a few from Blue Point and Keegan; limited but high quality. The prices, however, cannot be beat: $3 pints. | | JAF737300 (34), Tampa, Florida | | June 10, 2007 A great place for a good brew, excellent food, and a friendly staff. The food was reasonable and creative. The beers were plenty and they had some fun guest brews, and the people were super friendly....what more could you ask for! | | notalush (159), Denver, Colorado | | April 28, 2007 So I finally decided to come back to this place after a bad experience many years ago - I must say this place has become an excellent brewpub - it’s got a nice, cozy, town pub feel on the inside - the ultra-friendly staff just makes the place even more comfortable (our bartender was all smiles, and made a point of memorizing our names, even though she had no idea whether or not we’d ever come back - but, oh yes, we will) - the beer selection leans toward session ales, all of which I had were solid, but they also had a strong belgian ale on that was pretty good - the lunch menu is a tad more diverse than the dinner menu, especially if you’re a vegetarian, so I’d recommend this place for lunch and a few pints of session beer - overall a great, homey place, that seems to attract lots of return customers. | | beastiefan2k (108), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas | | June 25, 2006 Well, my rating of this place is going to be a bit skewed. Went their last night with my gf and JoeMcPhee. We sit down, I order my drink - the Hurricane Kitty IPA and the guy next me says "good choice." Long story short I was sitting next to one of the owners and his wife. Also, the parents of Tom Keegan of Keegan Ales in Kingston, NY. Had a great time with them, saw the hops garden (a beer garden surrounded with hops which are harvested once a year and used in an IPA batch). Had 6 beers on tap (2 Blue Point) and one Keegan Ale in bottle. Blue Point brewes all their beer in the brewpub. The place itself is great, lots of exposed brick. A cover band came, and I love live music. I am not saying everyone will have as good a time las me and the beer is not worldly but definitlely a stop for any real beer hunter. The IPA is terrific and whenever they get their DIPA that should be tried. | | bigrond (31), factoryville, Pennsylvania | | May 27, 2006 this place is warm and friendly and the service is good but could be more professional. As for the beer - it’s gotten awfully better since the blue point brewery took over the beer. Had an ipa which was excellent. | | JoeMcPhee (262), Jackson Heights, New York | | April 3, 2006 Decent enough place. Big open space, lots of families when I was there, but I suspect it changes depending upon the day of the week and time of day. Very friendly and efficient service from Anne-Marie... she even remembered me from a week before, even though I only stopped in for a few minutes the first time through. Food was decent, pub grub and some actual good stuff. The beers were a mix of their own and Blue Point. About 8 different ones, but a bit too much emphasis on the lighter beers, but there isn’t much wrong with any of them. Worth stopping in. | | seeknay36 (16), Port Jefferson Station, New York | | February 4, 2006 [ Updated February 18, 2006 ] I live close to the Brick House Brewery and it is a nice place to go and enjoy a micro-brew. I have not had all the beers on the board yet but there is still time. The food is good and the wings are a nice comfort food while sitting at the bar. They have a nice beer club option. I think the beer has gotten better since the Blue Point brewers have started helping out! | goldtwins (5), Nesconset, New York does not count - explanation | | July 31, 2005 Just happened to find this place after visiting Blue Point. I tried all of the house beers they had on tap. As far as any other beers they carry, well I didn’t check. Historic building makes for a decent setting. They had 6 of their beers and 2 Blue Points on tap. I believe the bartender said that the bewer from Blue Point comes across the street to help brew their beers. Bartendern was friendly and attentive and the beers were decent. |
