7 reviews for Kraig’s Kegs
WLG423 (2), Connecticut does not count - explanation | | December 11, 2009 Nice place, not as widely stocked as Marcy Discount, but still pretty good. Nice selection of local and regional craft brews along with the typical macros. Kegs and growlers to go are great. | | LilBeerDoctor (29), East Setauket, New York | | August 3, 2008 This is the go-to store if you’re in central New York. Pretty good selection of beers, considering the area. Lots of Victory, Avery, Unibroue, Weyerbacher, Ayinger, Chimay, Orval, Ommegang, Samuel Smith, Brooklyn, Oskar Blues, Smuttynose. The only bad thing about this place is that it doesn’t get much turnover, so a lot of the beers are old. Stick to beers that improve with age and you’ll be fine. A must if you live within 45 minutes of this place (and have nowhere else to go!). | craftycarl21 (6), South Hero, Vermont does not count - explanation | | July 26, 2008 [ Updated September 22, 2008 ] small section next to a produce market, but a solid selection for the middle of nowhere NY state. has a good amount of unibroue, brooklyn, allagash, and some other sought after breweries. good if you’re throwing a rager too- kegs are reasonably priced. | | oteyj (13), Canterbury, New Hampshire | | March 10, 2008 A great little produce store with a decent selection of micros from all around the world. Kind of out of the way, but some of the best selection you can find in the area. Lots of unibroue, including some anniversary editions that have since been retired, dogfish head (120 as well as others), Samuel Smith, Brooklyn, Allagash, Smuttynose, and a host of others. The guys are knowledgeable and cordial- why not stop in sometime? | MarkBarnes (5), Waterville, New York does not count - explanation | | December 17, 2006 Kraig’s Kegs, along with Marcy Discount Beverage about 30 mins. away, are oases in a virtual craft beer desert. Kraig’s gets the nod from me because it’s on a more often-traveled route close to home. Decent, but varying, selection of brews. Always some good IPAs on hand, but no Fullers or Theakstons (which requires a trip to Marcy). Helpful staff are willing to attempt to procure anything they don’t have in stock. | | Grandpa (12), Verona, New York | | April 9, 2004 An eclectic mix of fresh vegetables, beer and nursery products. I was surprised to see Dogfish head, Ayinger, Samuel Smith's and Youngs among others not easily obtainable. Hey its on my way home! | | CapFlu (179), Victoria, British Columbia | | January 27, 2004 Ever been caught between Syracuse and nowhere? Well, if so, then hope you end up in the small town of Sherrill, NY. Kraig's helpful staff will permit you to venture through one of Upper NY's best selection of micros. |
