17 reviews for Asheville Wine Market
| BeerandBlues2 (159), Colorado Springs, Colorado | | August 26, 2009 Well located in downtown Asheville but seems to cater more to high-end wines. The three workers were too interested in some paper on the register than me perusing the rather weak beer selection. Save yourself a trip and go to Bruisin’ Ales instead. | | dkachur (114), Charlottesville, Virginia | | March 9, 2009 I probably wouldn’t have stopped here if not for the fact that it is right next to the public lot where I parked. Also it’s about 3 doors down and across the street from Barley’s, which makes it convenient. Not a huge beer selection, but what they have is thoughtful. You will probably find a couple of oddballs here you won’t find anywhere else. The prices were pretty good and the people were very nice and very helpful. Worth a stop if you have the time. | | Butters (150), Virginia | | October 27, 2008 Very spacious and somewhat upscale wine place. The selection of beers was not extensive, but they did have a few beers that I did not see elsewhere, even at bruisin’ ales. Prices were about average. Staff was friendly and actually knew some about beer. Worth a peek to score something unusual for the area. | | Nate (197), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | May 22, 2008 Stopped in during a morning stroll through town looking for some wines/champagne. Great service - the guy showed us around for a while and we chatted about different wines and champagnes. Small beer selection but nice cheaper bottles than Bruisin’ Ales (Chimay, Tripel Karmeliet as examples). We paid for stuff and then came back later to pick it up, which was nicer than lugging it around. | | TURDFERGUSON (38), Carrboro, North Carolina | | October 10, 2007 As jmichael says, its a wine store with a little section devoted to beer. Some pretty typical craft brew stock, but really lacking on the locals. No Duck-Rabbit! This will soon be remedied. FIne for what it is, but their are better options in Asheville. | | Jmichael (34), Asheville, North Carolina | | August 13, 2007 a wine store with some beer. some good glass selections though, but when I asked about some remidial stuff this "wine" guy acted like he knew, but he did not know what he was talking about.... | | nearbeer (100), Knoxville, Tennessee | | August 1, 2007 [ Updated September 2, 2007 ] Lots o’ wine and about 200 beers. Nice, knowledgeable folks and a laid-back atmosphere. Only complaint is some are only available in sixes. | | tronraner (100), Seymour, Tennessee | | December 24, 2006 Good store with a ton of wine and some interesting looking cheese. The beer selection is worth looking at, with some Belgian and regional stuff and a few everchanging things mixed in. I always stop by when in Asheville just to see what they have. | | emacgee (25), Chapel Hill, North Carolina | | December 16, 2006 [ Updated April 25, 2007 ] Small shop, definitely focuses on wine with a very selective collection. A lot of regional stuff like Highland and some Terrapin. They offer a good selection of some foreign stuff too. Not very many singles. Most of what you buy will have to be a six pack. If you get lucky you’ll find someone there who knows half a crap about beer, but maybe not. | | jrob21 (42), Atlanta, Georgia | | September 18, 2006 Ok selection. Grabbed an Alesmith 11 which was a nice surprise. Otherwise not much I can’t get in Atlanta. Some DFH and Highland brews. Decent Belgian selection as well. |
