| dchmela (40), Orlando, Florida | | September 8, 2008 If you are in Asheville, you HAVE to stop here. I have a great bottle shop in my town (Knightly Spirits) and this definitely rivals it. Lots of hard to find stuff and breweries I have no access to, plus a great and knowledgeable staff. How cool is it that they have local growlers in stock, too!! | | unclemattie (90), Georgia | | August 26, 2008 This is the store of my dreams. Beer and beer stuff. An entire wall dedicated strictly to Belgians. Everything is catagorized to region. Super variety of styles and counties. Singles available. Local growlers and mini-kegs. Books, t-shirts, and glasses. I love it. MellowMushroom down the block... Overall, an absolute must visit or must return! | | timsilvia32 (18), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina | | July 29, 2008 If you like the Belgians, this is the place. I don’t, but this place has a great selection of other dark and strong ales as well. Good selection of the locals, a fair amount of domestic micros and some good imports. Staff seems knowledgeable. Prices are ok, could be better, but it is Asheville and a specialty shop. I guess I just don’t like I deserve a glass. Same thing happens to me at Brawley’s in Charlotte. | doboy (7), Morehead City, North Carolina does not count | | June 24, 2008 What a great store! Staff was very helpful! I was in a hurry and he jumped in to help me fill my order! What a selection. My biggest disappointment was that I had such a short time to visit and there was so much to see! | | DrBayern (35), Morehead City, North Carolina | | June 21, 2008 I first visited here about a year ago, and they had been open about 6 months. At the time,I think Jason told me that they had about 350-400 beers. But the beers that they had were first class, with a superior collection of Belgians.pMy most recent visit, on June 13, the selction ahd more than doubled. One of the best things is the selection of growlers from local brewers. If there is Belgian available in NC that he doesn’t have, I would be surprised. pThis is exclusively a beer store, somewhat of a rarity. Beers are beautifully displayed, certainly the best I’ve seen, and I’ve been to some good ones. pFinally, Jason, the co-owner (I’ve not met his wife) is really a great guy, very knowledgeable and helpful. I overheard him helping someone who nothing about beer get together some beers as a gift. Everything he told her was spot on correct without any B.S.pIf you’re within 100 miles of Asheville, this place is worth visiting, even without all of the other great beer destinations in this great town. | | beerguy101 (43), Newark, California | | June 3, 2008 Nice beer store, I was able to buy a bunch of stuff I can’t get in California. The lights are dim and the lights are out in the cooler. It is interesting that there was not a bad beer in the place even the low end stuff was decent. Was able to pick up a bunch of Dieu Du Ciel beers. The staff was knowledgeable, helped a couple of people while I was there after listening to their needs an suggesting several different beers. Got a free glass as well. A MUST visit when in Asheville. | | Nate (175), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | May 22, 2008 Great store! Met Jay. Awesome selection of local stuff along with Belgian and German beers (and Danish, etc.). Picked up some stuff to take to the beach and may stop back on the way back North for some impossible to find beers in PA. Got my free glass after spending over $50. Decent prices and a must visit. | durhambeer (3), Durham, does not count | | April 19, 2008 This place is really great! Been there a few times but finally caught the owners there today and picked up a ton of stuff. Great selection, particularly of Belgian stuff. Felt like a kid in a candy store. Well organized with bulk in the storeroom, so it’s easy to browse and see all they have. Also nice selection of local stuff, and very pleased to see growlers of Pisgah and French Broad stuff. Very friendlyeven send me away with a drinking glass! Will be back every time I’m in Asheville, I’m sure. Thanks, Jason and Julie, for opening such a great store! | azazel24 (4), does not count | | April 10, 2008 great spot to find remarkable beers at goood prices. selection was out of this world. we’ll definately stop back in next we’re in asheville,nc. | TikiE (6), Sylva, North Carolina does not count | | February 26, 2008 So far I have only been once, but its a great place. A wide range selection of all different types of beers, with good service, the guy working seem to really know what he was talking about. Cant wait to check out this place again! | View Page : 1 2 3 4
