| dchmela (40), Orlando, Florida | | September 8, 2008 Popped in for a quick beer and ended up really liking the place. Typical pub atmosphere, slightly dark and the like. Good local beers on tap as well as there own and seemed to have lots of bands and stuff going on. Severs were very knowledgeable, too.Real good place to stop in town. | | unclemattie (90), Georgia | | August 26, 2008 Kickass Irish Public House. Sunday night had a random meeting of local musicians all playing together, some of the best Irish music I’ve heard. Some would leave, more would come, adding to the group. 6 Green Man ales on tap, along with another half dozen local NC beers. Lots of Irish food on the menu. The guy next to me had a Guinness with a shamrock poured on the head. Cool. Lots of wood, floors to celing. I loved this place. | wcudwight (3), does not count - explanation | | February 20, 2008 Nice Irish pub feel. It’s a bit crowded on week-ends though. They usually have great live music. They exclusively sell Green Man Ales here which are some fine ales. Also they have cask once in awhile. Service is good and so is the food. | Perm (8), Tryon, North Carolina does not count - explanation | | January 30, 2008 Tuesday night is $2.50 local beer night which includes their own Green Man pints! (as well as some Highland and Pisgah they had on hand). We didn’t know that till we arrived and the server informed us. Huzzah!
A somewhat open space, and yet simultaneously (strangely enough) cozy. Very comfortable and familiar, with a British-pub bent. Two dartboards around a back corner clean restrooms and NO SMOKING!! (hallelujah...). That fact alone ups the atmosphere ante for me. Tuesday is just about the *only* night they don’t have live music (a nice stage area is front and center) this would be a prime spot for live music and brews. Their piped-in music was very fun, though lots of indie stuff, some Hendrix. And not too loud. In fact, the whole place was comfortably mellow and easy-going. Folks were there to have a good time, chill, have some brews. I got the sense that this is the kind of place with lots of recurring locals. I dig it.
Food: we got the bread, cheese, and chutney platter, and it was amazing. No idea how the other offerings are but the menu looks enticing, for sure.
I’ll definitely be returning. | Fiona (8), Chapin, South Carolina does not count - explanation | | January 27, 2008 Really loved this place. They serve the Green Man brew here whichis nto bad at all. Super little pub. Excellent fried pickles & a nice pub cheese plate. Very nice vibe even on a weekday afternoon before happy hour. | | DragonStout (55), Orlando, Florida | | December 9, 2007 Stopped here the night before Brewsgrass. It was band night so the place was hoppin.Had the sampler to try.Their beers were average at best, but the bartender was very knowledgable and attentive even though there was a large crowd inside. | | decaturstevo (55), decatur, Tennessee | | September 29, 2007 Service was ok one guy working entire bar and twice as many people at bar as tables. Four house brews on tap all decent with 7 other beers on tap as well. Food looked good but I didn’t partake. Atomsphere is quite at 6pm on a Thursday. Good music playing and a quite hum going on. Stopped back by at about 11pm it had picked up alot. I was surprised because of the way it was going when we were there earlier. Decent place I will visit again. | | mgumby10 (45), West Palm Beach, Florida | | September 24, 2007 Great ambience walking in. Small brewpub atmosphere, but live band playing in the corner with planty of barseats and tables. I had the sampler of their Green man brews and they were quite average. They had other locals on tap as well. The band was pretty good, and the bartenders were friendly and seemingly knowledgeable. Nice little place, even though the beer was quite average. | | Jmichael (33), Asheville, North Carolina | | August 21, 2007 cool pub in cool spot downtown, has their own beer, pretty good stuff, a cool streetside bench to people watch, and usually some good live music. a fun stop. | | EithCubes (61), Indiana | | July 8, 2007 Great pub, this...some generic Englishness to it, mostly in decor, and dark with gritty floors and lots of companionship. Funny, all the accents have disappeared in here, don’t know if it’s the Big City or just an off-night. Not really impressed by the lineup of brews, but the bartenders were a lot of fun and the grub with overly filling. Stayed for the bluegrass jam, good time. | View Page : 1 2 3
