| tronraner (100), Seymour, Tennessee | | September 8, 2009 A very tasteful seafood restaurant in downtown. Pretty good ambience, with an oyster/beer bar. The beer plays second fiddle at this place, but they do have their own brews (the OysterHouse line), as well as a handful of other Asheville brews (French Broad, Wedge, etc.) on tap. The service was prompt and friendly. The food, though, is amazing. A little on the pricy side, but worth every penny. I had the Greek lobster pasta, and it was outstanding. I can’t afford to eat dinner here very often, but I’ll definitely return for lunch or an appetizer and some beers. | | BeerandBlues2 (159), Colorado Springs, Colorado | | August 26, 2009 Being from the South and living in Colorado, we were stoked to see fresh seafood together in harmony with fresh beer. We started with a dozen raw oysters Ɠ of 4 different varieties) and an IPA and Stout. We were blown away with the quality of the food and the beer. We ordered dinner rather slowly as the choices were few but difficult to decide between. You will not be disappointed no matter what you get. If you sit at the oyster bar, you get to see just how damned hard the kitchen works. | | NachlamSie (212), Tennessee | | June 22, 2009 What a classy little joint. Lots of tasteful decor and furniture adorn the place. A stage is near the bar upon which a guitarist was preparing to play. The menu looks mouthwatering with extreme emphasis on seafood. I only had the oyster beer cheddar soup which was delicious. They had two of their own beers on tap and a few other micros/regional brews. The service was courteous and knowledgeable. I want to come back to try out the IPA and eat some tasty seafood. The food prices are a little high (well it is exclusively seafood) but I get a feeling that the quality of the dishes is right in line. | | Suttree (88), Knoxville, Tennessee | | April 20, 2009 Stopped by to try the beer and have plate of Oysters. The service was great and the bartender was happy to talk about the beer. The place itself is very nice looking, with a lot of copper and wood. I really want to eat here, but the menu looks a bit pricey... | | Butters (150), Virginia | | April 18, 2009 Thanks to Suttree for sending me on a mission to find this place! Pretty laidback yet upscalish seafood bar. It’s more like a restaurant with a homebrew kit in the kitchen...literally. They brew 10 gallon batches right behind the bar! That makes for some very fresh beer! But i wonder about how much variation occurs from batch to batch. The service was really prompt and Brian the bartender was super congenial. The food was really fresh. And the beers sure were something special. I was amazed by the quality of the beers they were brewing there! Definitely worth a stop. |
