| Oakes (323), Miami Beach, Florida | | October 4, 2008 Typical airport bar. Four taps, but they also carry a wide assortment of the bottles, which aren’t listed until the back of the menu. The experience isn’t anything special save for the fact you’re at the airport and actually have a decent beer in your hand. | | nearbeer (77), Knoxville, Tennessee | | July 22, 2008 [ Updated September 20, 2008 ] I kept waiting for this place to open when I was passing through Charlotte and it finally did this spring. Only 4 house taps and about the same number of their own bottles, but food is good and service friendly. First time I was there at about 11 AM and I was the only one in the place, but mostly depends on the flight schedules in Concourse D. | | PorterPounder (160), Tallahassee, Florida | | April 25, 2008 [ Updated April 26, 2008 ] Good for an airport brewpub. Had four of their own on tap and about a half dozen of their bottles. The waitresses seemed to know what they were talking about - even heard the words high gravity mentioned when describing their Frostbite. Food is a notch above the typical Airport grub fare of overpriced sandwiches etc. Had Lime Infused Grilled Chicken and Brie - very good. Seek out if you have an hour to kill in Charlotte. Decent wide ranging selection of their brews - something to please all palates. | | cheapdark (58), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania | | April 19, 2008 [ Updated July 22, 2008 ] Stopped at the place during a layover at the Charlotte Airport. I was very surprised to see this place in an airport. Has a small bar where they serve 4-5 of the Carolina brews on tap with many other bottles in the cooler. They also have a nice sandwich bar where they make the sandwiches to order. Waitress had quite a southern draw and the place was pretty crowded at 9:00 in the morning. I had a sampler of 4 of the cottnwood beers for $8. Very small place overall and of course it’s because it’s in the airport. At first I sat at the bar but the waitress insisted I sit at a table. Not too bad and a decent place for ratebeer guys to go sample some local brews if they are passing thru. |
