Stopped in on the way home from work today and was reminded that I’d never rated the joint. Sort off a ragged place, with a very few market amenities (Slim Jims, Dinty Moore, that kind of thing), a bunch of jug wine, girly mags, and a decent selection of micros. Standard Belgians, local goodies, and a nice array of Founders, Moylans, Stone, etc. No real reason to make a special trip as you would for Sam’s, but pretty good selection for Raleigh.

Yea, this place is awesome! You walk in and when you go to the right it has tons of hard to finds and some rares sprinkled in. Definetly the best beer selection in Raleigh to my knowlege. The only thing that botherd me was the indian dude that was kinda a jerkoff a the counter. I havn’t been to sams yet but i will be goin soon.

Been going here for years. Best selection in Raleigh. I usually can find something that will quinch my thirst. The frustrating thing is that stocking is inconsistent. I’ve found some good beers there (e.g. Racer 5) only to never see it again. Service is not what brings me back to this place. Lately they have been expanding their large bottle selection - Hopping Frog ,Moylan’s. New beers are usually placed on a palate as you walk in the door - found Avery Maharajha there for cheap! You do have to watch out for some skunky beers, however. (Sam’s in Durham has a better selection with better service)

This is the preferred place to buy for my buddy in Raleigh. I must say, it does look like a bit of a hole, but it did have a pretty good selection of beers. Pricing seemed to be about average. I am guessing that just about everyone can find something that interests them. Service was okay, but all I did was check out.

Went here on 5-3-09 before leaving to go back home from our WBF weekend. Decent selection of beers, though I thought the prices seemed a tad bit high. The part that irked me was I brought the last bottle of Monschof Kellerbier to the counter to pay for it, and they refused to sell it to me because it had no price tag on it. Are you kidding me!?!?!? First time I’ve ever been refused a beer being sold to me from off a stores shelf. Nothing but a glorified 7-11 with a decent beer selection. Not worth the stop, really. Also, just a comment, but if the is the best place to go in Raleigh for buying bottles, then Raleigh needs help!

One of the best beer stores in North Carolina. Great selection of beers although most of it is already refrigerated. Prices are good. Worth a visit.

This shop has an excellent selection of beers, including a few that I have not seen elsewhere in NC. It is rather disorganized and you can not always count on them to have the latest releases immediately, but they did offer to order what I was looking for. Worth a stop if you are in the area...

This is a conveniant store located on Peace Street in Raleigh. I would have never thought this place would have the selection it does. Hugh selection. However, be aware because some of the stock can be very old. Don’t know much about the service since I have never talked to the workers. But if you want something new, stop by and get something.

Imagine the store from Clerks. Then add an awesome beer. This store is totally disorganized. Labels don’t match, occasionally it’s hard to find prices. It’s pretty dirty. Damn good beer, local, US, international, with some hard to find stuff. Not very helpful staff and I certainly didn’t appreciate the back in 2 minutes sign when I got there. (It was well more than 2 minutes)

So during my 2-year sojourn in Raleigh this was clearly the closest (I could walk if I put my mind to it) good place to buy good bottles. A bit odd (but then again, so is the rest of Raleigh) sort of reminds one of an old gas station convenience store, without the petrol. Odd assortment of tons of styles and labels, haphazardly placed amongst Fosters cans and Miller High Life I can’t tell you how many hours I wasted in there simply trying to figure out what all they had. Lots of Belgian and German specialty treats, as well as harder-to-find American micro’s. Always more expensive than they should have been a half-hour trip to Sam’s in Durham would put this place to shame for their prices, to say nothing of organizational skills, selection, and above all, SERVICE. I started avoiding PSM because the guy working there fussed at me for making notes to myself on prices and selections what gives?
