| freekyp (27), Thomasville, North Carolina | | September 26, 2008 Amazing selection from around the world. Has lots of limited editions and seasonals. A bit overprices, but you won’t find more obscure stuff in one place in NC than here. These guys host the local home brew club and are very beer knowledgebale. Have a mini pub on premises with an ever changing small but quality tap selection. They also regularly conduct tastings. A mecca in an otherwise mediocre market. | | Capa (53), Yokosuka, Japan | | August 17, 2008 Stopped here on my road trip south and I’m glad I did. Large micro and import selection including many ciders. Well organized, and knowledgeable employees made my search for good local beers a breeze. I only bought a case of new stuff but would have tripled that amount if I weren’t strapped for time. I’ll make this stop again next time I pass through Winston-Salem. | | Butters (57), Temporarily in Nashville, Tennessee | | August 10, 2008 This place rocks! I have been trying to stop here for over a year and my travel plans just never worked out. I’m so happy that my last business trip afforded me the opportunity. Hands down the most beers I have ever seen in one place. This store has it all, both quality and quantity. I’ve been in many a wine store that has a selection of beer, but never a store that FOCUSES on beer and has some wine on the side! It is a bit pricey, but I cannot wait to return. | | biznizness (21), Mooresville, North Carolina | | August 8, 2008 As far as I can tell, this is far and away the best selection in Winston. Yes, the prices are a little high, but not outrageously so. Very friendly service and, as mentioned, the beers on tap are awesome. Definitely a must in Winston. | | Retorp (124), Tampa, Florida | | February 22, 2008 Very nice selection. A little pricey for NC, but still affordable by Florida standards. Picked up a lot of eclectic stuff and they still had Duck Rabbit Barley-wine and Scotch ale when no one else did. Stuff was sort of all over the place, but I like that. Browsing about for gems is part of the fun of beer shopping for me. I’d say it’s a definite must stop if in the area. | | decaturstevo (55), decatur, Tennessee | | February 4, 2008 Nice place nice selection. A tap room what about that. I wish I had had time to drink one. Beer was seperated out by styles I think which made it difficult to track down Duck Rabbit beers and others, but they were more than willing to help you find what you wanted. They had homebrew supplies in the corner by the cooler too. Pretty nice place just a little on the pricey side. | | DragonStout (55), Orlando, Florida | | September 28, 2007 A nice homey style beer shop. Beer was seperated from the wine, but was a little unorganized. They will break any 6 pack to sell u a single. They also have a tap room to drink a pint while you shop. Picked up a bunch of pumpkin beers that I was looking for. | alexanderj (9), San Diego, California does not count | | May 26, 2007 Liked this store; large selection both in coolers and not. Have singles and the ability to make a 6 pack. It could have sucked and I would have still liked it, since I was able to pick up some DR Baltic Porter. They still have a good amount of that for those interested (in the cooler). Also picked up some Rabid Duck, a Highland glass and Highland Tasgall, amongst others. | | tronraner (86), Maryville, Tennessee | | December 24, 2006 Huge selection of beers of all types. Very impressive. Singles and sixers both, room temp or refrigerated. There’s also a small homebrew section in the back of the store in case you need some emergency supplies. The only problem here was my budget. | | NachlamSie (170), Tennessee | | September 16, 2006 [ Updated February 19, 2008 ] Obviously this is a manditory stop in Winston-Salem. I stopped in to pick up a case of the Duck Rabbit Baltic Porter and found a few other gems while I was at it. They allow the creation of a 6 pack from most of the reasonable sixers. Plenty of micros and imports, including a shelf of Belgians are to be had. Some frat kid bought two kegs of Busch Light while I was here. I really like this store.

This place used to be a very good beer store. Since my last visit it has become a ridiculously thorough and expansive treasure trove of beer. The sheer amount of beer is staggering in the room with a tasting area set up. Unfortunately, it makes me think of how long that stuff has been sitting on the shelf. I saw a lot of product that has long since vanished from most other NC stores, e.g. 6 cases of Expedition. Homebrew supplies are also available here, which is kind of neat. There were three taps available to drink: Bells Hopslam, Bells Expedition, and Terrapin Rye. I bought some weird brews here I’ve never before seen. | View Page : 1 2 3
