| Brodie (21), Blowing Rock, North Carolina | | January 27, 2006 So we pull up to this place around 6 pm on a Friday night, and there are only about a half dozen cars in the parking lot. Hmmm. Well at least we won’t have to worry about getting a seat at the bar. We walk in, and on the chalkboard where they would usually list is the specials is the following message: "We have temporarily lost our liquor license. We are not permitted to sell alcohol at this time. We hope to have our license in back in about two weeks or so." I’m not going back. | | pivo (24), , Germany | | November 6, 2005 Has the charm of a TGI Friday’s. Situated in middle of a nameless strip mall somewhere between Cincinnati and Dayton. More of a restaurant than a brewpub, catering to a fancier audience than the pub grub crowd. Got handed a wine menu within the first 2 mintues of the being there, so I guess their focus isn’t really their own beers, now is it? The waitress also pointed out their bottle selections (non-Watson Bros). All in all, this was a wasted trip for me and there is no need to go here. | | Grandpa (12), Verona, New York | | August 17, 2005 I came here with some of the grandkids, not an optimum situation. The staff handled it nicely and we all had a great time. We sat in the dining room where we could admire the brew tanks and look out over the patio where a combo was playing. I thought it would be pub food but they had a good upscale menu as well as a kids menu. The adults sampled the upscale menu and found it very good. | | Tmoney99 (209), Cincinnati, Ohio | | May 13, 2005 Watson Brothers is clearly a bistro first and a brewery second. Both combine for an above average location. Service was freindly and the sampler I had was of six brews. One fo the brews was a seasonal. The beers were of average quality compared to style with one above average. The food menu was complete and the soup I had was very good. Good location and bar which will allow me to smoke a cigar at the bar after 2:00 PM. A good family location. | | JCW (86), Cincinnati, Ohio | | January 13, 2004 [ Updated September 5, 2008 ] I used to love Main Street Brewing when it was downtown. I preferred it over Barrelhouse Brewing Co. The quality of the beer is not what it used to be now that it is Watson Brothers and located in Blue Ash. They usually carry 4 of their own beers, and an import or two and a few macros on tap. Nice atmosphere compared to Barrelhouse or Colerain Brewing Co. and reasonably good food. |
