RateBeer Brew Tour Guide's Comments
This retail store is located in Dayton proper(fifty minutes from downtown Cincinnati). It has a similar beer selection as Jungle Jim’s, but they have a much larger selection of singles. Cavalier Distributing(Stones,DFH,De Dolle, etc) largest retail costumer in Ohio in 2003.

| BuckeyeBoy (40), Boise, Idaho | | August 17, 2008 A must stop that is what I have read. And It didn’t let me down. A great palce. Also a very updated web page. I had a long list. One of the guys in the store looked over my list and stated pulling bottle off the shelf. It was sweet. Tons of OHIO brews. | | glkaiser (38), Seattle, Washington | | July 30, 2008 FANTASTIC selection. Lots of gems that I can’t get out west....I wish I could load up a car and drive a shipment back. As it is, I bought more than I can check in my bag.
Reasonable prices, great selection. A kind of odd feeling place, and the staff seemed a bit clueless, but that shouldn’t stop you from checking it out. Must hit if in the Dayton area.
I mentioned to someone at the office I was visiting that I would be hitting this place, and they tried to talk me out of it, saying that they used to buy liquor here when they were in high school / college and they guaranteed me that the selection is nothing special. Yeah, they’re a fucking idiot. | 1_2many (4), Ohio does not count - explanation | | July 9, 2008 No better place in the Dayton area. Fantastic beer selection that is added to as much as possible. Homebrewing supplies and a good wine selection make this place even more complete. I might consider moving if this place ever closed. | kibble48 (4), Kettering, Ohio does not count - explanation | | June 28, 2008 Absolutely my favorite place in the Dayton area overall. It has the best selection of beer in the area for single bottles and microbrew in general. Its also a liquor store in case you need that stuff. They don’t offer a ton of food just snacks. The service is helpful and personable and they have always tried and been concerned when they don’t have a beer available. Its Awesome I suggest you check it out! | | AmEricanbrew (65), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana | | May 6, 2008 I have relatives that live a few minutes from here in nearby Centerville, so every time i’m in town i make a point of visiting them after stopping here, ha ! The stores a bit on the small side, and a bit tacky, but it has the largest variety of craft brews i’ve found anywhere (so far anyhow), in the Midwest. A must stop in SW Ohio. | airrore (1), Dayton, Ohio does not count - explanation | | April 21, 2008 If you blink going down Smithville, you could miss it. It’s a forgettable strip-mall crammed between a chinese restaurant and a pie store. Parking is terrible and sometimes you have to fight your way through U.D. girls buying Nati Light to get in but the hole-in-the-wall dankness and wood paneling is really the silver-lining to what an awesome find this place actually is. World class beer selection in a working class environment. Nice... my type of place. If you have delusions of physical grandeur of what the perfect beer store actually is, Belmont is not for you. But they have an amazing selection and will work with customers for getting particular selections in that are not in stock. Staff’s not always knowledgeable, but always helpful. Freaking amazing. | JSturm (4), Yellow Springs, Ohio does not count - explanation | | April 15, 2008 There’s no place better for retail beer shopping in SW Ohio. If it’s available in OH Belmont Party Supply will have it. If it’s not, ask and they will try and get it. The shelf space is limited so don’t expect breadth of selection, expect depth. You will not be disappointed. | | AllAboutStout (30), Cincinnati, Ohio | | February 4, 2008 Possibly the best beer store in the entire state of Ohio. It’s easily the best that I’ve been to. Great selection. Easy to find something here that you can’t elsewhere. Always have plenty of stock of the most sought after beers. Great wall of singles to pick up some beers to try. A rather nice selection of homebrew supplies and equipment.
Very good and friendly help(Blake) make the place a must stop and a place worth driving to. | Bigmmartin (4), Dayton, Ohio does not count - explanation | | January 6, 2008 [ Updated July 1, 2008 ] Belmont is the place to go in Dayton. There is no place that even comes close in the immediate area. The staff will gladly offer advice, suggestions, and any other info on all things beer. They will also accommodate special requests and are always stocking new beers and brewers.
This place won’t win any awards for appearance, but they have the essentials... tons of great beer! | clingman71 (8), Centerville, Ohio does not count - explanation | | April 29, 2007 This place is a dump, but to those who live in the Dayton,OH area, it is our dump. It may be dirty, but the selection is rivaled by few. They have all the usual suspects of American micros, Euro commons, and a good selection of Belgians and other "rarities". They also have a decent amount of homebrew supplies. | View Page : 1 2 3 4
