Very nice place - picturesque location with a great craftsman style lodge building. Great layout with lots of TV’s and comfy places to relax. Beer was decent, mostly mediocre, but either way it was a great place to hang out after rafting.

Nice, newer building in a location that seems out of the way, but isn’t. Sampler was six 6oz for $6. The Jamaican chicken with pineapple salsa was excellent. Service was fast, the only downside was the room gets pretty noisy.

Had a great time here. They have a ton of beer on tap and the place was jamming on a Fall Saturday night. NCAA football going on the TV’s. The place is very large and can hold a ton of people. They have some really good Pub food. My wife and I had a great time. The service was awesome. They talked the beer very well and I was able to try lots of special new brews that night.

I didn’t eat here, but I sampled everything they had at the time. The 6 sampler was about $5 and the guy gave me the other 4 for free as well. Beers were almost all good, but nothing amazing either. Check out the other brewpubs in the area first, but this one was far from bad.

Satelite location for the main site in Redmond. Nice interior, lots of wood, moutain lodge-ish I suppose. Service was good, the sandwich I had was tasty and the sampler of the house brews was just OK. I saw only the local products on tap.

A short drive from downtown Bend through a few roundabouts and past the main Deschutes brewery. Nice large wooden place from the outside. Not as big on the inside. They have 2 sets of 8 taps so 16 total, most of which are just duplicated so that they can pour on either side of the bar. Didn’t look at any of the food. Service was average, my water never got emptied. Worth a visit to try the average Cascade Lakes beer if you’re not up for the 18 mile drive up to Redmond.

Looks like a large building from the outside but inside it is a little cramped... a lot of the inside volume is taken up by the entrance, and the bar area seems too small but those are minor complaints. They have about 9 taps available, and the sampler tray was a decent price. Nice bartender. I sat there and read the paper and talked to a local. They have happy hour food specials but I did not try any. They don’t allow smoking which is nice. Worth visiting. More conveinent than driving a little north to Redmond, which I think is exactly why they opened this location. Only major complaint is it’s hard to find because of the new streets. Streets & Trips 2004 did not show where it was located, because the roads around the Lodge used to be logging roads... but if you drive out of downtown Bend to the south and cross the Deschutes river you’ll eventually find it on one of those stupid roundabouts.

OK was in Bend for the weekend when i heard that Cascade Lakes Brewery of Redmond had opened a new place in neighbouring Bend. Hard to find but eventually i pulled into the parking lot, seemed quite full. This is quite an impressive building..indeed in the style of a skiing lodge , ouside mostly done in glass and yellow pine logs ( think of a Timberline &quo;lite&quo;). Inside i soon found my way to the bar which was well laid out with plenty good bar seating..there is a larger restaurant area both to the left of the bar and upstairs. Even though the place was moderatlly crowded on an early Saturday afternoon, a waitress soon picked me out sitting at a bar table. I got the sampler 6 beers in a rather smart &quo;lazy susan&quo;..looked about 6 ozs the piece very nice. The place has a full liquor bar but only Cascade Lakes beers..i think i counted 10 taps. I actually liked there beers..well most, kmost seem not to ..well maybve they are better fresh? The grub was pretty good too..just regular pub stuff , but well done and quick service. Overall a nice place to do lunch..I will be back next time I am in Bend.
