My wife and I were staying at McMenamins but discovered this gem, and visited more than once that weekend. The beers were variable but mostly tasty, with an IPA that was eminently drinkable. We had only appetizers, but they were sufficient for meals and were very well prepared. Think upscale pub food here. The staff was casual and comfortable, and on our second visit we already felt like regulars. The ambience is just on the right side of ’upscale yuppie’ and we hope it mellows into a truly authentic hangout. If they don’t blow it by trying too hard to attract the tourists, this will become a dynamite place for both locals and visiting beer geeks.
