| Dansting (114), Overland Park, Kansas | | August 3, 2008 Visited on a Saturday for a tour and then came back for dinner later. The tour was one of the biggest letdowns I have had at a brewery tour. The tour guide was pretty annoying for the most part. She was similar to the ones that I’ve encountered at Miller and Budweiser, as her comments seemed forced and stale. And at the end of the tour, they didn’t offer samples which was a first for me. Afterwards, we ate at the restaurant and had samples at the bar. The selection was great as they had pretty much every Rogue beer available, some which I’d never had before. The bar service was pretty fun, as the bartender had a good personality and was joking with us. The place itself wasn’t as cool looking as I figured it would be, but it wasn’t horrible. Glad I went to there, but I wouldn’t go back there unless I was already in the Newport area. | | Ungstrup (209), Frederiksberg, Denmark | | July 5, 2008 What a weird place. We had a very informative tour, but I was very surpriced to see the place with mold growing on the old fermenting vessel (they were in the process of putting of new brewing equipment when I was there), and the whole building reminded me of something in the wild west. Looking at the brewery I’m surpriced how good beers Rogue puts on the street. After a visit to the destillery we ended up in the tap room, with many different beer on tap, though only 3 new for me. The food was solid, but a little boring. I find the marketing department has just a bit too much power at Rogue - but it is ofcourse a way to survive. | | Rogueone (20), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio | | April 21, 2008 Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Newport. I mean, why else would a beer geek be in Newport anyway, right? Dining area was just sort of open with tables thrown in a room, but the saving grace is that you’re right on the bay and so the view is breathtaking. Full selection of many Rogue beers while I was there. The bartender sort of talked down to me a bit about the beers, which I found a bit distasteful but I got over it. Food was better than average. Really enjoyed the bar area, very cozy. Also visited the distillery located across the bay, which I would recommend. | Scoutman (5), does not count | | October 5, 2007 Cool place, great views, excellent beers. Service is dependent on who your bartender is. Some of the gals are less than steller, but the guy with the pony tail kicks ass. My only real complaint was with the lack of brewing knowledge on the part of most of the tour guides. Again though, if your lucky enough to get the pony tailed guy, your in luck. | | BuckeyeBoy (40), Boise, Idaho | | October 8, 2006 A pretty cool place down on the bay. Good food to go with the great beer. You have to have some of the nutbrown beer bread very good. | Haack (1), Tilst, Denmark does not count | | September 22, 2006 LONG LIVE THE ROGUE NATION! I want to move to Oregon. I loved Oregon. I am a Dane but this is the closest to Denmark I can come in the US. Little store to buy beer in the bottle just before you walk up to the resturant. Amazing hospitality. The Public House in Newport on the other side of the bay as well. I was here with a really good friend. Hope to visit Paradise again soon. | | mikebeertaster (22), vancouver, Washington | | September 8, 2006 I was a little disappointed with my visit here. I have been several times to the Rogue Ale house across the bay and I guess I was expecting more. We were there during the day, during the week and it was dead. No problem with that except we tried to sit at the window seats for the view of the bay the problem was one of the employees said we couldn’t because they save them for people who are eating, not just drinking. Hello? there was no one else there. It wasn’t like they had one window seat. After letting the employee know we were really disappointed the woman reluctantly gave in and then provided some terrible service. Nice. | | JMFG (17), Florida | | August 1, 2006 This is the first Rogue place I’ve been to (out of three) with good service. Judging from the reviews below, I may have gotten lucky. The jovial bartender threw about 4 or 5 samples to me and my wife while we where making up our minds. The beer is still a tad overpriced. There’s a shop downstairs with Rogue beers and shirts. Took the tour and it was pretty dull. | | unclemattie (90), Georgia | | June 24, 2006 LONG LIVE THE ROGUE NATION!
This place is right on the Yaquina Bay. Under the bridge that leads to the Great Pacific. Pick the right seat and overlook the bottling process. Little store to buy beer in the bottle just before you walk up to the resturant. Amazing hospitality. Absolutly genuine people. The Public House in Newport on the other side of the bay as well. Charlie, Chris, Jim were all great. Thanks again, and see you all soon!!!! Once again John C. Maier is an Artisan Brewmaster of the World. Thank you John!!
Prost | | harlequinn (114), Tacoma, Washington | | May 26, 2006 This is so much fun to watch boats and look out over the bay and just to people watch in general. Food is overpriced and not really worth it for the money, but I did not come here for that. This is a place to experience and take a tour. truly marvelous. | View Page : 1 2 3
