| megrut (15), Chicago, Illinois | | October 7, 2009 Pelican is a shining oasis of deliciousness in a rather boring, somewhat dumpy town. Their beers are all of good quality - they even have some on cask. Food is typical bar fare, but better than average. I recommend the ribs - homemade sauce is great. I very happily spent an entire day drinking and eating here and would do so again. | | tongatim (11), Bellingham, Washington | | September 12, 2009 Classy, classy, classy. Gorgeous location, gorgeous sunset over the ocean while sitting outside with an ale and delicious food. Friendly waiter.
So this is usually the setup for mediocre beer, right? Well, not this time. The beer is what we came for on our 3 state brewery tour road trip, and this was some of the best beer we experienced. The icing on the cake was the generosity of the brewer who provided us an impromptu brewery tour when we introduced ourselves as home brewers.
Classy. | MuluAle (5), , Colorado does not count - explanation | | August 1, 2009 The view is spectacular. The beer prices are too high but they do control the market there so they can get away with it. Always packed in the summer. The view makes the beer taste better. | | CharlesDarwin (144), Point Judith, Rhode Island | | June 3, 2009 This place was pretty incredible. I stopped in here to score some bottles and wandered around the place. What a great setting! The park is beautiful, the brewpub is lively and inviting. I wished I’d had the money and time to stop in and enjoy a nice evening here. I would highly suggest this place! | | kmweaver (113), Sebastopol, California | | November 18, 2008 Nice, heavily wooden and perfectly clean brewpub in an ideal location along the water. Sadly, we were there at night beneath an overcast sky and drizzling rain. Numerous Belgian style beers on tap, although nothing that really set my heart aflame. Great to try the Tsunami Stout and IPA on tap, and the other seasonals were pretty solid. I’ll look forward to going back in better weather. | | shadey (31), Rochester, New York | | October 2, 2008 I had to boost the overall rating of this place simply because of their location. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner right on the pacific ocean with an incredible beach. Beer available on tap or in bottles and a great selection of reasonably price memorabilia. I was pleasantly surprised by their Saison which was good. the IPA and Tsunami were fantastic. I wish I could go back every summer. | | Dansting (114), Overland Park, Kansas | | August 3, 2008 Visited on a Sunday morning for breakfast. There’s nothing like a nice India Pelican Ale to go along with a nice breakfast burrito, which was what I had. Very tasty. The service there was outstanding, as the hostess was extremely cheerful and prompt. Our waitress was extremely nice as well, and very good with the service. The place is very cool looking, with it being right on the beach. This is one of the best brewpubs I have ever been to. | | Ungstrup (245), Frederiksberg, Denmark | | July 5, 2008 Wow, what a location right on the beach down to the pacific, with the big wawes crashing on the beach while you sit on the porch an enjoy a great beer (even in October), I would love this to be my regular pub. When we visited we had a very informative tour of the brewery, and in the restaurant the service was very friendly. On draft they had 3 new beer for me and 2 in bottles to take away - I think they had 7 beers on draft. I really want to go back, and hope to do in a different season, so I can try other of their seasonal beers. | | bhensonb (287), Woodland, California | | June 19, 2008 Visited last year. Food was just great. Got a window view on the beach - saw a deer chasing tourists in the sand, or the other way round - or just scaring each other. You can buy many of their beers in bottles - only the IPA seems to be shipped out, so it’s a great opportunity to take back the unobtainable. | | BuckeyeBoy (57), Boise, Idaho | | May 11, 2008 A very nice place right on the Beach. Nice brews they also had a couple guest brews on. The food was good but not cheap. |
