November 2, 2009 If you’ve never tried this pizza, APIZZA that is, then you’ve got to at least once. A mix-breed not really NY style, not really west coast, not like Pizza Napolitana, and definitely this ain’t no deep dish. Think of the perfect blend of pull and chew, crisp and crackle, with a simple and complex character of pure toppings and melting cheese. Yes my friends, yes this is the ultimate beer pizza. The complexities in the smokey crust and rich salty toppings absolutely beg for the pure flavor POW of an equally satisfying beverage. Apizza Scholls definitely hits and completely overshoots the standard for beer selection at a pizza joint. An amazing array and dizzying selection of unique bottles and well-liked standards, one begins to wonder how they could possibly taste the entire selection. Well my friends, that’s the joy of a standing room only bar with an attentive bartender and a chalkboard beer menu that measures about five feet long. I came here originally for the pizza, and I still do, but the beer keeps it interesting. |
