60 reviews for Belmont Station
JMoon (3), Oregon does not count - explanation | | November 17, 2009 The selection here is almost incomparable. It’s not the most refined establishment, but the taps in the ’biercafe’ are rotated often and far superior to most any pub. They could work on having better food options. It’s a social gathering place, too, with pretty frequent special events. | | CH47 (11), Kansas | | October 11, 2009 Just up the Street From Horse Brass Pub Bellmont station Offers an enormous selection of Craft & Import Beers. They frequently have many Rare and Hard to find beers as well as odd formats and sizes. Clearly a dedicated "Beer Nerd" store. The staff is very knowledgeable. I have spent a bit of time and money in this store and was happy to do so. | | KyotoLefty (132), Kyoto, Japan | | September 12, 2009 Amazing selection of bottled beers with several rare Belgians. Tap selection wasn’t that impressive. Didn’t have the chance to stay and drink, but that would be one of my first tasks if I ever get back to Portland. I love that you can drink the bottles there for a $1.50 corking charge. Cool. | | Rastacouere (475), Montréal, Quebec | | July 9, 2009 A nice store which should satisfy the traveller with quite a few rarities. I presume they started this Cafe since they moved on Stark St. The 15 taps involved serious affairs like Upright Saison, La Folie, Heater Allen Pils, all in tip top condition. Attentive and careful service. Selection’s highlights included Midnight Sun, Pelican, Heater Allen, Roots... A more than satisfying place that has a neighborhood feel akin to West Lakeview in Chicago. | | MrRoss (13), Delta, British Columbia | | July 8, 2009 Easy to find, although not much parking and the shop is on the "cosy" side, the selection is outstanding. Friendly and helpful staff. | | jbrus (110), Delft, Netherlands | | May 10, 2009 If you’re coming from Europe than this place is close to beer heaven. Just too much beers to select from. Lots of stuff from USA of course but also many Belgian, English and world stuff. Guys weren’t to friendly or helpful however. It was early, maybe they had tried one too many the day before. | | Beardface (35), Eugene, Oregon | | May 9, 2009 Belmont Station is easily the best bottle shop that I’ve been to in Portland. They have hundreds of beers arrayed in a fairly easy to figure out arrangement of coolers and shelves. Some tasty beers that I’ve picked up here include the Sam Adams Imperial Series, Laughing Dog Alpha Dog, a couple Heater Allen beers and some Dieu du Ciel. I also had a chance to sample the Ellezelloise Hercule Stout on tap there, and that was an interesting experience to say the least. Their tap list is about a dozen handles, but they’re generally well thought out and often things you can’t get elsewhere in town. My only real complaint is that due to the store’s popularity it can get a little packed in there, but I’m generally pretty good at squeezing through big groupings of people, so that’s a fairly minor complaint. | | brianprentiss (29), Portland, Oregon | | May 7, 2009 great place and a must stop for the beer lover in Portland. they have hundreds of bottles, most of which you can buy as a single. they have 10 or so rotating taps that always have something interesting. the only problem is cost, the bottles are rather pricey. | | leems (27), Portland, Oregon | | May 6, 2009 I like Belmont Station a lot, you can get a pint and then peruse the bottle selections and stock up. My one complaint is that I get lost, probably not there fault but the place is a bit tight and overwhelming especially if you get a half dozen or so guys in there.
Meet the Brewer nights get hectic, there are way too many people stuffed into the little shop but it is still enjoyable. Free beer and discounts? Hard to beat. | Hopeye (2), Oregon does not count - explanation | | April 27, 2009 No longer just the bottle shop you go to before drinking at the Horse Brass, the now-misnamed new Belmont Station should be a regular stop for any beer fanatic. Try a glass or pint of a rare or limited edition beer while browsing their impressive bottle market, read an old copy of Zymurgy, or talk beer with your buds--its always a pleasure. |
