beer tour, 08/16/08. Have been to ABC several times, very consistent beers and food, although I wish they would put the bangers and mash back on the menu! Beer sampler was good, 10 beers of which my favorite was the Susquehanna Stout, nice flavor, although not much body or mouth feel. Nice brewpub, and I will be back to visit again sometime soon.

This place is HUGE. It’s a restored factory of some sort, but it’s a very cool setup. The brew house can be very clearly seen from the dinning area through a large glass wall. I think the bar area is a bit small for how big this place is though. The Abbey Bar upstairs is great: very comfortable, casual atmosphere with plenty of seating and live music. The service is hit or miss. Some are very friendly, helpful and informative while others give you the impression they’d rather you not be there, but that’s fairly typical of most places. The selection is very good. They always have quite a large number of their own beers on tap and they usually have a couple of cask beers on engine. The selection of Belgian beers in Abbey Bar upstairs is also quite good: St. Bernardus, Rochefort 10, various De Dolle, etc. The food is okay. I think the beer is very underrated here. The Oak Aged Barleywine is fantastic, as well are the Susquehanna Stout and IPA.

Went in on a saturady afternoon, upstairs bar was closed for the rest of the day/night because of a wedding. Food was very good and I had a stout from the cask, a sample of a oak aged barleywine, and their wheat. All three beers were enjoyable. A nice place overall

I stopped in on a Saturday night, and they were having a St Patricks day celebration. Naturally it was crowded and they only had two bartenders working.Ambiance is your typical historical building with brewpub decor. Nice long wooden bar. Service was not so great. For starters, they were paying no attention and it took a local to flag one down so I could order a beer. They were too busy socializing and washing glasses to give me any service. Once I found a seat, I was never offered a menu, and they failed to mention the special beer on tap that was not listed. The beers ranged from OK to Decent. I preferred the Belgian style beers over the house American micros. I ordered some Chipotle wings which were good. The service picked up a tad after the amateur drinkers left. Overall, my experience was OK at best. I doubt I’ll return. They do have six packs to go in case you want down a few at your hotel.

Pretty nice place. Just had lunch and some samplers and the waitress was pretty nice and knmew the beer she was selling. She offered a taste of something before I purchased a pint and the burger I had was really good. It was quiet and not many people there yet which was a plus. Nice decor and very clean.

Very large restaurant-style brewpub with freakin’ huge doors, in an industrial area of town. They had lots of interesting beers on tap, which makes me wish I had had time to stay longer to try more stuff. I was slowed down by the almost complete absence of service. And it wasn’t busy, either. They’ll sell bottles of a handful of their brews at the front counter. Pretty neat place.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon after taking the 2pm tour over at Troegs. Pulled a seat up at the bar and asked if they had a sampler. The bar tender told me they did and that it was the 8 beers on the taps over there. Real informative...I assumed it was the house beers and asked if I could subsitute some of my 8. He said yes and as I went on to tell him which 8 he kept telling me well not those ones. Whatever, they had like 30 beers on tap and I wanted to try the ones I had not had before. Didn’t necessary work that way though. Thinking it probably would have if I had a better tender. I did get a chance to try their oak aged Barley Wine, which they only serve in their sample glasses (come on have you never hear of snifters at least?). The sample size glasses were rather large though, probably around 6 oz. $10 for the 8 beer sampler. I didn’t have any food and didn’t end up staying too long, mostly due to the fact that I didn’t feel like hanging out with the not so helpful bar tender. Might give them another shot if I’m back in the area. Would like to try the food and get some of the other beers they have on tap.

One of the Largest Brewpubs in the Country - claims the Staff | Be sure to check out the Satuday Afternoon Tour of the Brewhouse and Bottling Line | Food was Average to Above Average | They seem to have every style of beer available - most are average | The real GEM seems to be the Abbey Bar upstairs - a Belgian Bar seving a wide variety of Belgian Imports.

Was here all day for the 10th annual beer festival. Nice layout, great staff, and the food was very good. Many of their beers are ’meh’, but they’re not horrible. I will most likely go here again on a non-festival day to check it out.

Typical large family restaurant brewpub experience. Food is as you would expect, with basic appetizers and sandwiches and burgers. None of that matters, because I come here to drink on my way through central PA. Selection is large, like other ABC locations, with usually 2-3 seasonals. Last time through they had the Peche and Framboise brewed by their Camp Hill location. Good service, even when crowded and a little loud (from the high, echo-y ceilings, not an over-rambunctious crowd).
