wierd thought i rated this allready. anyway, i have been a fan of this place’s food for a long time, gotta love the G5. they do have a modestly cool selection of bottles. However I do agree with illinismitty though, places like this don’t really need to be on rate beer, they are probably a million bars you can go to in the U.S. with a half decent selection of beers, listing all of them just clutters up ratebeer.

Nice location in downtown Harrisburg. The sandwiches were very good. Really no ambiance. My Ruben was great though! The beer selection is okay. Various Troegs (Nugget Nectar, Rugged Trail, Sunshine Pils, etc). A few varieties of Weyerbacher and Rogue, Stone Arrogant Bastard, Heineken on tap, and all the macro’s you would expect to find. This is a good place to stop in for a sandwich for a quick lunch downtown or to pick up a six pack.

Can you rate a place on aroma? If so, this gets a 10. You walk in and smell fresh bread baking. This seems to be the late night stop for drunks, as well as a lunch spot for downtown workers. The sandwichs are tasty, and are very cheap as well. I had a hot ham and swiss grinder with hot peppers. It was so good that my drunk ass (after hanging at McGraths) started eating it on the Hilton elevator because it smelled so good (in front of other strangers). As far as beer selection, I was expecting much more. They have all the BMC stuff and alcopops. As far as micros, you have Troegs, Weyerbacher, Stoudts, and Stone. That’s about it. Perhaps the inventory was low when I stopped in. I certainly did not see the selection acrdz saw. Troegs bottles were about 2.25 per bottle and Stone Arrogant Bastard at $4.50. If this place were in a bigger city, I would question whether this place should even be included on Ratebeer. However, this is Harrisburg, PA, and this seems to be a favorite place for the locals. I think other Ratebeerians should know about this place swing in for the food and the nostalgia, and grab a beer while you are at it.

An awesome sandwich shop, with meats and breads prepared on site. It’s located around the corner from McGrath’s Pub. Bottles include Stone Imperial Stout, Arrogant Bastard, Lagunitas Kill Ugly Radio, Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, Weyerbacher Raspberry Imperial Stout, Rogue Chocolate Stout, Brooklyn Local 1, and the full Troegs line. Awesome cheap eats and inexpensive bottles that you can drink there or take home. I’ll stop here again.
