| WeeHeavySD (77), San Diego (Hillcrest), California | | June 23, 2009 Cool place, but very pricey. Decent beer list, but as geeky as I am I couldn’t find much of anything on the list I hadn’t had. Nice staff and ok vibe, way too dark in their though its like a dark castle or something. | | 41cubs (11), , New Jersey | | May 17, 2009 What a great place in a great neighborhood, so much to do, so much to eat and drink all on one street of one neighborhood. Eulogy has a real mom and pop earthy feel to it with the dated dark wood, dimly lit rooms and narrow staircases. I love that there is an upper and lower bar and dining area to choose from with multiple taps at both bars. The service in my experience was very good. The staff seems a little " to cool for school" but also very attentive, knowledgable and helpful. I think Chris was helping us that day and he was very patient with our large group ( 8 guys ) and had great suggestions for our individual likes toward the beer. Food was uniformally outstanding. Best mussels that I’ve ever had and I tried two different styles, both of the huge one pound serving but there’s also a two pound serving. Nice burger and very good fries with excellent sauces accompanying them. Value was excellent for what they offer. Go for lunch a really enjoy the space. | | jeremytoni (46), Swedesboro, New Jersey | | May 8, 2009 Large selction of beers. Good service, and friendly. More than you expect for center city Philadelphiia. | bloodybabboon (2), , does not count - explanation | | April 4, 2009 Good place overall, service was kind of bad, although it was a busy saturday. fantastic selection... | | JoeMcPhee (241), Jackson Heights, New York | | March 21, 2009 This place was very cool when we stopped in. Busy but not in an obnoxious way. Solid tap list and a nice bottle list as well with good prices. The place just feels comfortable... the sort of place you could spend a whole day in. The place is very narrow with a long bar down one side. There is a small seating area up front by the windows and a larger area upstairs. I agree with puzzl... if you only look around the pub you’d swear you were in Brussels. | | puzzl (70), New York, New York | | March 9, 2009 A great stop. Very authentic Belgian feeling. A small but solid list of beer all around, with pretty nice prices. This bar is a big time relief in the middle of the club distict; low key, quiet music, not too crowded. Will definitely return here on my next trip to the city. | | MrChopin (15), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | February 16, 2009 Stopped in after a 5 hr drive around 1AM, staff happy to take care of me, quite well in fact. Nice feel, rather small and intimate, though I didn’t go upstairs. Taps are very straightforward, so I headed straight for the bottle list. They have a lot of sour and funky stuff, relatively disproportionate in fact, so I was pleased knocking back an 1809 BW and Gavroche BdG right before closing time. Would frequent this place if I was in Philly more often. | BT (4), Newtown, Connecticut does not count - explanation | | February 8, 2009 I went to Monks first (which was necessary), but was then introduced to Eulogy...wow! This place has great food, a better selection, I just wish it was in Center City, closer to Tenth Pres! (Simeon Trust, 2009, Marion C, Sarah C. and Skip) | | Fin (78), Merton, England | | January 16, 2009 Visited here three to four times back in November 2008. I really enjoyed this place, the selection was very decent, barman knowledgeable and good fun and also it had some decent music playing all on each occasion we were there. Unlike the previous rater we sat at a table on two occasions and never had food. Had some great beers here for the first time including Bells Hoplslam. | | LilBeerDoctor (29), East Setauket, New York | | January 11, 2009 I stopped here with fredandboboflo on a late Friday night. I don’t understand why this is considered the #1 or #2 beerbar in Philadelphia. It was completely crowded when we were there and we weren’t allowed to sit at a table because we weren’t ordering food. The taps were pretty ordinary to be honest (Lindemann’s Framboise, Corsendonk Christmas, Leffe Blond, Delerium Noel, etc to name a few...certainly nothing remotely special). The bottle list was long and somewhat impressive but again, didn’t really contain anything that I couldn’t buy myself for less $$ (well I’ve never seen Cantillon St. Lamnivus at a store before, but I wasn’t going to pay $50 for it at the bar anyway). Overall: This bar is small, crowded, and didn’t have anything that interested me (as a destination). A disappointment.
