5 reviews for Jose Pistola’s
| jde123 (58), Washington, Washington DC | | April 24, 2009 This is by far my favorite beer bar in Philly. Have had consistently great service here. I’ve been at varying times of day, sometimes in the afternoon to watch the Phillies, sometimes int he evening for dinner and drinks, and each time has been spectacular. | | JoeMcPhee (262), Jackson Heights, New York | | March 21, 2009 Kind of a cool place. Smallish front area by the bar/windows with a larger seating/dining area on a semi-raised area at the back. Lots of dark wood and brass but with a modern touch. It’s a pretty nice looking spot really. Smallish selection, but it’s not bad. I only popped in for a few brews, but what I saw I enjoyed. There’s no reason not to check this place out, although serious tickers might find it a bit lacking on the selection side. | | corby112 (17), philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | December 4, 2007 Relatively new place in center city Philadelphia. Original concept of mixing Mexican food with Belgian beers that works very well. Nice decor makes this place a little moreapppealing than the average pub. Wide selection of international beers including over 80 bottles and six rotating seasonal beers on tap. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly and the food is quite good but not that expensive. | | JFGrind (64), Glenside, Pennsylvania | | November 14, 2007 Unique combination of Belgian beers, Tex-Mex and large tequilla selection in Center City. Relaxing 1st Floor bar has a nice view of the 15th Street sidewalk bustle. Jose Pistolas can very well stand on its own but with Latimer Deli, McGlinchey’s on the same block, plus Monk’s & Locust Rendevous around the corner there’s no reason not to visit. | | bp (47), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | September 8, 2007 This place just opened in the space that used to be Copa Too. It is decent sized place that has bars on two levels and restaurant-type seating on both levels as well. Food is pretty good Mexican dishes (some are pretty cheap). The important part - the beer. The selection is pretty decent with a number of Belgian bottles and a few other things. Nothing that is too hard to find anywhere else however. They did have St. Bernardus Abt 12 on draft but that seems to be available in a lot of places in Philly. They also had Yards, Chimay Triple and a few other decent brews on draught. Worth checking out if you are in the area. |
