A couple of blocks west of Broad on Mifflin. Bartender was very nice and attentive. I went during happy hour so I got a good deal on local drafts, however, their selection is so good i had to get a couple at full price ($5, which is also a good deal). Wings weren’t very good but I ordered the steak sliders which were. Unfortunately they put cheese on them when I asked for none, a common occurrence in my world. Over all, a great place to have a beer and a very good place to eat. I didn’t run into any jerks. It can get kinda loud due to the setup but hey, it’s a small price to pay for a great place.

The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable, pouring us a few samples before we decided on a pint...I had the Riverhorse Oatmeal Milk Stout, Amy had a Pliny the Elder Double IPA. Beer selection was good and focused primarily on the local breweries, it looks like there are about 12 taps here, and a small but decent bottle selection. The food was good - Amy had the eggplant parmigiana and I enjoyed a rustic sandwich. We shared a Mediterranean plate. The atmosphere was very corner bar, with an elevated / second floor seating area with tables and a long bar on the lower level. The music was searingly loud, especially considering the small crowd. There are some good happy hour specials to be had - no complaints about getting a cheap pint of a good beer - that’s for sure. Between SPTR and the Devils Den, its nice to see some good beer bars making their way into South Philly.

This is a great little spot in a quiet neighborhood is South Philly. The atmosphere is very relaxing, and the color scheme and decor make me feel right at home. Service was okay but not great. It was real slow but somehow, once I had my food, I managed to sit with an empty glass for about 10 minutes. The selection was stellar. All the taps had something interesting (I had Pliny the Elder and Philly Joe), and the bottle selection, while rather small, is on point. Port, Abbey, Cantillon, Weyerbacher Riserva, De Ranke, just to name a few. The food we had was alright but nothing great. I had a burger with the standout part being the bun. It was a bit pricey but nothing terrible. I can’t wait to get back to this joint.

Went here for the Drink Your Wheaties fest. Lots of wheat beers on draft obviously. Not my favorite style but solid. Plenty of different options to choose from. I also had the veggie burger with fries. Damn good. It also came with some spicy pickles that are sold locally according to the chef but not available commercially - they were excellent. Nice place to stop by if you are in Philly for a while.

Great place to go after hacking at the FDR golf course. Nice beer selection on tap and bottles that you can make a six pack of. Was surprised the first time I went there they had Avery Maharaja Imperial IPA on tap which started my love affair of the beer. Nice everyday atmosphere that is un-centercityish. Great veggie burger.

This is one of my favorite beer bars in Philly. Great, low-key atmosphere, eclectic menu and a well maintained (though not large) selection of regional crafts. Worth the subway ride.

Went for Founders’s Beer Night, March 6, and was totally disappointed. Had a limited amount of Founder’s Kentucky Breakfast Stout and ordered a round fearly or our table. After a 20 minutes, our waitress told me it was poured and STOLEN from the bar and they were out - totally lame. I’ll even over look the waitress taking a 40 minutes to get our first round of drinks, but our suop never came. The manager came over to comp us soup, told us it would be right up, then 25 minutes later the wrong soup came out. Save yourself the effort, there are plenty of other great beer bars in Philly.

Nice beer bar tucked away in South Philly. Very good selection, good service and nice prices. Local, unpretentious and friendly crowd. Had selections from Allagash, Stoudts, Rock Art and Bells (including Expedition Stout) on tap as well as a decent selection of bottles. Standard pub fare menu turned out to be above average. Knowledgable and friendly staff. Definitely will be back.

Sat down to kill some time while waiting for someone. Great selection of bottles and drafts. A nice place to have a beer and grab a bite to eat.

Efficient service. Good selection on tap, a mix of common crap and a number of good beers, and even a few rarer beers. They had the first tap of a new Yards brew when I went to rate. The food was pleasant enough, nothing too special, but nothing to complain about. Service was efficient. They had a nice rack of bottles on display with plenty of things I really wanted to try, and there was more on tap that I wanted to try than I could drink pints of, so I never got around to bottles. Clientele was a peaceful friendly lot and we even made some new friends at the table next to us. All in all a very nice place, one I’d recommend to visitors if they happen to be in the area and have checked out the other places.
