7 reviews for Tria (Washington Square West)
| fiver29 (15), Cleveland, Ohio | | November 10, 2009 Yeah, this was a cool place. Trendy, hip, and stuffy. I’ve never been to a place where everyone sitting at the bar is sharing fine wine, beer, and cheese. Remarkable. Cool concept and it works really well. Service was top notch and the staff was on top of everyone all night and it was busy. Top notch service all around. They didn’t have a lot in the selection area. But they made up for it with what they did offer. I sampled the Russian River Damnation on tap, Port Brewing High Tide Fresh hop on tap, and had a glass of the Lost Abbey bourbon Angels Share on tap. Not too shabby. They had Russian River Temptation bottles on the list with a few other nice selections. All were a bit pricey. The Temptation bottle was $38. Drafts were $6-$8 range. Food was great. Just a bit expensive. I asked the bartender what he suggested to pair with the Angels Share and he suggested the warm poached figs with gorgonzola with Parma prosciutto. The dark fruit flavors were a perfect pairing. Overall I had a great time, food, and course the beer. I would have liked to have seen a bigger selection of beer. They easily made up for it with a solid selection. | | MrChopin (19), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | February 16, 2009 Trendy spot, definitely high on the hipster crowd. Fantastic service, even during near-peak time. I wasn’t as impressed with the tap and bottle list as the best Philly stops, but it was still pretty good and I got to try DFH’s Red and White without paying for the 750. Definitely worth a stop, but Philly has better. | | jeremytoni (53), Swedesboro, New Jersey | | June 8, 2008 Same as the other Tria, just a little bigger inside. They offer what they call Sunday school in which you can get less common beer/wine/cheese at a discounted price. A great chance to try something new. Other then that their wait staff is very freindly and knowledgable. Their food is very tastey not the normal fair available with a good beer slecetion. | | soyorganic (18), Denver, Colorado | | May 15, 2008 This is where you go for your taste buds. Great beer selection with belgians and rare beers on tap. The beer menu like the cheese and wine menu is broken down by adjectives if you know what sort of taste you want and/or are lazy and don’t want to comb or read the menu. The cheese and food are excellent. The only downfall is that it can be sort of pricey. I have been on weekend nights with parties ranging from 2 to 5 with little to no wait for a table. The atmosphere makes it a good place to take your yuppie friends, but not your punk rocker or hippster friends. Oh yeah and the service is always very good. | | bp (47), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | November 14, 2007 I love Tria. It is probably my favorite beer bar in the city (yes, I like it better than Monks or Eulogy). They always have some interesting draft selections and a number of different bottles of beers (locals, Belgians, regional, west coast). The food is excellent. High quality ingredients, nice cheese selection. The difference beteween this place and the original location is atmosphere. It is a much more trendy feel at this location. Stop in and have some food and a drink! | | kkearn (21), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | August 5, 2007 Stopped on Saturday evening, 8/4/07 with my girlfriend for some food and drinks. We were quoted a wait time of about 30 minutes for a table. We quickly found seats at the bar and, much to our surprise, a table was ready for us in less than 10 minutes. The menu is the same as the original Rittenhouse Square location. Service was prompt and friendly. I didn’t count the number of seats/tables, but this location seems to have more seating than the original. My only complaint was that the music was a bit loud, making conversation difficult (They were playing a good mix of music, however). This is another solid addition to the Philly food and drink movement. I wish Tria good luck in their second location. |
