Pipers is absolutely one of my favorite places- period! Drew really loves his work, and it shows. Brittish ex-pats on Saturday for football, but a very well-rounded clientell most times. Great Sunday brunch (a rarity in Pittsburgh). Drew’s cask-conditioned selection is limited because he won’t bring in just anything, preferring to work with near-by brewers- but he’s expanding his territory a little. And- it’s the only place to watch Six Nations Rugby (albeit, a day late) unless you have a satelite. GO! NOW!

Had dinner here with my wife on a Saturday night - it was about 6pm and there was a Penguins game that night. We still got seated within 5 minutes. Only one cask ale available out of three, but several great standard taps. Great bottle selection and the whiskey... wow. The food was terrific and the portions were immense. I ended up taking home a doggie bag and had a very big lunch the next day. Would definitely go again and highly recommend it to English pub fans.

This is a very nice place that left a good impression on me. I was treated well from the moment I walked in. The only reason I went here was because it was the only place I could try a glass of East End 80 Schiling, but I was glad I went. I got there about 11:30 for lunch and the place was pretty much empty. Drew, one of the owner’s, talked with me for a while about english beer in a friendly manner and was very tolerable regarding my rookiness about English beers. If you have a desire for English style beers, this is the palce to go. Many UK beers on tap you cannot find in other locations around Pittsburgh. Very nice atmosphere. I didn’t have any food this time but I hear it is very good irish and english fare that cannot be had anyplace else in the area. Prices on beer were very affordable and they let you try samples of stuff you’re not sure about for free.

A British pub on the Southside. Soccer is always on, and they have a decent, though limited selection of beer. The Fish and Chips is amazing, as is much of the other food. It’s pub fare, but done well. A bit busy at times, but decent service. Overall, a nice place. Not a ton to drink, but better food.

Decent draught selection, always a few nitros along with some UK samplings usually not found elsewhere in the city. Great selection of single malts, though! Limited seating at the bar, smallish dining area, combined with a faithful group of patrons can make for a crowed night.

I love Piper’s Pub! The atmosphere is decently British in the front room and fairly nonexistent in the back room. They have about 25taps of solid quality. The beer prices are farily good value for the region. For the non beer drinker they feature over 50 single malt scotches. The food is very English and is very good with huge portions and very reasonable prices. My only complaint is the beer selection - especially when Smokin’ Joes is 1 block away with 350+ beers to choose from. I suggest eating at Pipers but drinking elsewhere.

Been coming to this place since it opened a few years back. Always friendly service, being from England, I love the food as well. And the beer selection, as mentioned below, is good, but it’s mostly ales and lagers from the British Isles, with a couple of Belgians thrown in as well. Usually will have a Youngs on tap as well. Taps are kept clean and the beer always tastes good here. Great place to watch English football (soccer) on Saturday mornings as well.

Smell, sights, and sounds of a typical college bar. Service is non-existant. Order at the bar, if you can. The selection isn’t impressive at all. I didn’t order beer the selection was that bad. Couldn’t try the food. A waiter/ waitress didn’t exist in that half of the joint. And the worst part - I was paying to park in the vicinity!! Why did I come here? Oh well, never again.

Really cool bar - the staff is very friendly, and the patrons are equally nice. If you’re into British and Scottish ales, there is no better place in Pittsburgh. If you’d like something that isn’t nitrogenated, though, you may be frustrated. Really great Irish and British food here (no, that isn’t necessarily a paradox). Spectacularly fun on St. Pat’s (the real day...not the fake weekend date of the stupid parade).
