| Brewman63 (25), , | | November 21, 2009 I was in the area recently so I thought I would stop in. I’ve been by it before but never stopped - I used to live in the area. Nice and open inside. Bar is a good size that wraps around in a U-shape so you can see everyone from where you are sitting. It was early on a Tuesday so there weren’t many people there yet. I couldn’t stay long but by 5:30 it was starting to get crowded. They have a good selection of microbrews on tap (probably around 30 of them) with the usual import offerings and additional bottle choices. A good selection overall. I couldn’t stay long so I had an order of wings (10 cents each on Tuesdays) with honey jalapeno suace - very tasty with the right amount of zip. If I’m back again I would like to try one of their wood-fire pizzas. They sure did smell good while I was there. Other food offerings are your typical beer-bar fair: sandwiches, wraps, pasta, etc. Service was very good (of course, it wasn’t extremely crowded yet). I would definately stop again when in the area. Wish I still lived nearby.
| | gsmitty80 (41), Washington DC | | November 27, 2008 Met a few friends at this bar. Good tap selection and beer list. Large open room, good for socializing with friends. Decent service, and the pizza we got was good. Would go back again. | | cheapdark (65), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania | | October 9, 2008 Lunchtime on a wenesday. One big large rather darkly lit room. Has TVs and a big bar. Booth seating around the circumpherence. Very friendly help and good looking too, I had a girl named Sarah serve me. Big tap selection of micro and imports but I didn’t see anything there I haven’t tasted before, so I got a bottle of Chimay red from the excellent bottle list. Lots of parking off of route 50E out of carnegie more so than greentree. I had an appetizer of roasted fries but when I got it, it was the size of an entre! Need I say big servings? Prices are affordable on the food. Sorry I missed the tueseday wing specials. Overall, a rather decent beer experience. | | KornDogg (20), Lancaster, Pennsylvania | | October 5, 2008 Best Wings in pittsburgh, at one point they had 10 cent wing nights... check their site for current specials... decent beer selection... but a must for wing lovers, especially those who like a good beer | | clingman71 (12), Centerville, Ohio | | August 24, 2008 Solid draft list. Food was far better than expected. Prices were excellent. Service was somewhat slow however. | | mtoast (10), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | March 10, 2008 Nice little place right down the street from my house, good wood fired pizza, decent wings. Atmosphere is a little heavy on the sports bar feel for me, at least they keep the lights low though. Oh and it is smokey, not just cigarette smoke too, wood fired ovens do create smoke. Beerwise, 36 taps with only 6 dedicated to macros, the rest are entry-level to solid micros with a few good imports thrown in also. Service is not exactly beer focused, cute early 20-something girls who like to flirt but at least know how to tend bar. Don’t expect them to be able to answer any beer questions though. Beer list website seem to be updated regularly, so I’ll spare the rehashing of what I’ve had their. |
