| biggcb (27), Harleysville, Pennsylvania | | November 23, 2009 Nice set up in an unassuming building. Pretty cool building inside. Stopped in after hitting the Green Dragon with my wife and daughter (early Friday evening). Place was pretty much empty. Our waiter was attentive, but could not speak of the beers at all. Ordered the sampler - as most people have comments, the 2oz sample sizes are too small really. The beer were average - drinkable, but nothing to get excited about. I had the Elk meatloaf - it was pretty tasty. Wife did not like the french onion soup nor the shrimp cocktail. | | michael-pollack (71), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania | | September 26, 2009 Cool old building. Lots to look at. Service was great, because I was the only person in the place. Strong selection of about 10 of their own beers. Seemed on the cheap side. Too bad all the beer was bad. I am unlikely to return. | | afireinside96 (29), Mountville, Pennsylvania | | November 20, 2008 Went here with TheCaptain. Place was very clean and nearly empty when we got there. The waitress was friendly and attentive but didn’t really know anything about the beer. Had the sampler and the beers ranged from pretty good (Pale Ale) to pretty bad (Double Barrel). Prices were good and the food was very tasty. I would be willing to go there again. | | BeerGestapo (14), Windsor, Pennsylvania | | July 17, 2008 [ Updated August 14, 2008 ] After a long day of running around Adamstown, We decided to stop for a bite to eat. Inside there is a very nice dinning area and a cool bar !! Nice selection of beers on tap, The food was pretty good, and the service was excellent. Would like to stop back again some time. | | FooFaa (25), Lebanon, Pennsylvania | | May 31, 2008 This place is kind of out in the middle of nowhere. I sat at the bar. The service was very attentive, friendly and helpful. The selection was okay. They had six beers on tap: Kolsch, Hefeweizen, Pale Ale, Maibock, Doppelbock, Stout. Their beers are solid, but nothing to get excited about. All of their beers are very drinkable. My favorite was the Doppelbock. The Pale Ale is a very nice session beer. I agree with what some others have said, regarding the sampler size. Two ounces per sample is just too small. The food was decent. The smoked trout chowder was very tastey. For diner I had their chipotle scallop salad, which was okay. Overall, this is a decent place worth a stop. | | TheCaptain (32), Lancaster, Pennsylvania | | May 8, 2008 Nice little new Micro Brewery-Restaurant in Stevens, which is about all they have in Stevens. The beer obviously is there own, I believe one owner used to work for Stoudts in Adams Town down the road and left to start this. Most of the the micros were good, German influence with some specials. Food was well prepared with the bartender really catering to us. Nice atmosphere. I would say beer is there just up the food and more open hours. | | TomDecapolis (69), Skippack, Pennsylvania | | November 3, 2007 [ Updated November 4, 2007 ] The stout was good...but that is about it. No I lie I enjoyed the Trout Chowder. My entrée was really bad! It was suppose to be a southwest chicken entrée but instead was grilled chicken (a small piece) with pasta, nasty BBQ sauce, corn and black beans. My wife got the Salmon and wasnt impressed, Dad got the steak and liked it but he like his steak like shoe leather.
The beers were all mediocre with the stout being a step above. My mom got a glass of Merlot that smelled and even tasted like vinegar. She let our server know and she came back and was like yeah the bar tender agrees that wine went bad. But come on...I could smell it as soon as it came to our table. They even forgot to take the wine off the bill.
The menu seemed to have some good sweets but I passed because I didnt feel like giving this place anymore of my money.
The look and decor was nice. A little sterile and not really worn in yet but has potential in terms of a facilty. Just needs to get the food and beer up to par. | | hopdog (197), Lansdale, Pennsylvania | | August 5, 2007 Stopped by for dinner on a Saturday night (7pm). Crowded, but no wait. I was impressed with the inside and the way they did up the inside. I was expecting a neighborood bar (especially due to the location) and was pleasantly surprised with look and the menu (expect pub grub food). Food came out a little slow (or maybe I was just starving). Sampler was only 2oz pours which is a big minus (samplers should be at least 4oz each). Had the sampler and ordered a few that I thought needed more attention. | | kmweaver (113), Sebastopol, California | | July 26, 2007 This is my first place rating in quite some time, but I finally feel a bit more comfortable rating them. This was our first stop on our trip up to Cooperstown from the DC area. 12-week-old brewpub, with a long mahogany bar and casual, self-seating sections. Silvery fermenters at the entrance and past the bar. Attentive, friendly bartender; quick to bring out our orders and perfectly cool with people hanging out at the bar and discussing / rating their beers. Very friendly people. I visited with mj and lilannie, so same selection as Mike listed below. I thought the Kolsch was excellent, and everything was at least solid. Excellent Portobello sandwich and fries (has a few good vegetarian options). Definitely worth a stop. | | LaMichael (599), Colorado | | July 24, 2007 Recently opened. Bit of a small town feel surrounding this place. Looks like it was built in an old hotel building, the ceilings are nicely patterned and are about 20 feet off the floor. Beer selection was solid: Maibock, Doppelbock, Kolsch, Hefeweizen, Stout, Pale Ale, Lager on tap. I got the prime rib sandwich which was quite good. They have a bar menu and a dining menu, FYI. Loved the food, loved the German-leaning styles of beer, and overall they were made well. A few were a little weak on the palate, but the Maibock especially was great. |
