September 5, 2008 Probably the best beer place to stop in NEPA, the Arena tends to showcase both standard solid Belgians and plenty of PA / NY locals. Always something interesting and new (at least to me). Excellent food, generally, if a bit pricey. $2 drafts during happy hour are a great deal, and draft / bottle prices in general tend to be very reasonable (unless you’re looking for something like a magnum of Chimay). The crowd tends to be the sort of people I didn’t care much for in high school (I inevitably see someone from high school every time I go there, and then I simply pass by as though I’m a stranger, not from around here). Can get smoky, loud, and busy on the weekends, but overall lots of good food and excellent beer. Most recent trip: Tripel Karmeliet and De Dolle Dulle Teve bottles. |

April 10, 2008 I stopped in on a Wednesday at the start of happy hour, and it was packed. Parking was limited as well. This seems to be the hot spot for locals, and the place is pretty loud when it’s busy. Interior is your typical sports bar typical ambiance. Happy hour specials are outstanding- $2 drafts (with a few exceptions) and $2 appetizers. I had 4 drafts and two appetizers and my bill was $12! Selection is good on draft and bottles, especially when you consider that you are not in a major metropolitan area. I had wings, which were decent. They do allow smoking if that bothers you. I would definitely hit this place again if I am in the area. This place has strange hours (closed monday and tuesday- WTF?), so make sure they are open before you make a trip over. |

April 2, 2008 tap selection was outstanding, as was the service. Atmosphere is a bigbar noisy place but it was still a good time. Food was average, but it didn’t matter because .....it’s all about the beer. |

February 21, 2007 Locally, the best bar in the area. 50 rotating drafts and a great bottle selection. The food is fantastic and the service is excelent. The only downfall is limited parking when it is busy. |

October 31, 2006 The Arena is the best bar in northeastern PA. It’s got great happy hour specials ($2 drafts of almost all of the 50 beers on tap and $2 appetizers). The menu ranges from wings and pizza to terrific and inventive steak, chicken and fish entrees. It’s got something for everyone. I like the new location, but the parking still leaves a lot to desire. That’s really the only complaint I have is the small parking spots. |

December 6, 2005 The service is not always the best at the Arena and the parking is bad (park at Motor World or the fitnes place across the street), but the selection of beers is the best in Wilkes-Barre. |

November 1, 2005 I would not mind visiting this establishment more often but it seems all the attention is on the poorly dressed female bartenders that are more intrested in dating a hockey player than serving me with great service.I believe this is more of a (date a waitress or one night fling with a waitress)kind of place before its a bar.No korks here, visit for yourself. After their shift you can see the free entertainment when the bartenders are sloppy drunk and ready for a night with a stranger. My kind of place if i wanted sores / just kidding/ and if i was 20 years younger |

October 17, 2005 The bar by which all others in the Wilkes-Barre area should be judged. There is no better selection or service around. The food isn’t spectacular - but then who goes to AB&G for the food? |
