JarredWFM (6), Detroit, Michigan does not count - explanation | | October 14, 2009 this is one of the best beer bars i’ve ever been too. quite comfortable, with large chairs and fireplaces, and many tables. i had the sampler of every draft beer, and was impressed. the cheese plate was great too. i went november 2008, and look forward to going again. | UM02 (1), Quebec does not count - explanation | | October 3, 2009 Excellent place for a beer connoisseur. A selection of 5 or 6 house brews supplemented by the beers of other microbrews on the rest of the 18 taps. I have been going here since they opened 3 years ago and their own brews are continually improving. Unlike a lot of brewpubs they are constantly changing the styles they brew which obviously leads to varying degrees of success but I have drank some great beers here and you have to respect the desire to experiment. | | padgemw (11), , | | July 24, 2009 A place I visit on every trip to Montreal. The selection is impressive, but understand that distribution of US micros is limited in QC. This is a notation from those from the US wanting their favorite from home. But certainly not an issue. Just relax and choose from the myriad offerings from QC, France, and Belgium and be happy that you stumbled into, and likely out of, this place. A great place for a beer and a chat. | | DYCSoccer17 (187), Davis, California | | April 14, 2009 I came here on a early spring weekday. It was about 55 degrees F and sunny, so it was a perfect day to sit in the sun and do some reading. I had several pints of several hours, which was enjoyable. The service was a little slow, which was a bit annoying at times. They had a nice list of Quebec microbrews and some of their own. The interior of this place is very orange. There is a crowded patio with plenty of tables and chairs as you walk in. The bar is toward the back with some booths. The bathroom is actually down in the basement, which seems like a really bad idea. Thankfully, there are condom dispensers in it. | | j12601 (52), Poughkeepsie, New York | | April 8, 2009 Full of black, red, and copper, this place almost hints at steam punk decor, especially with the big gear lights above the bar. Beautiful space. Even more beautiful is the tap list with 18 draft pours, with a little under half being their own. Others are a nice selection of the best of Quebec, including a few I can’t seem to find in bottles in the local markets. Prices are amazingly good (1.55 to 2.50 for nice sample pours). Food is very good, especially given the space they’re working with, and also pretty reasonable price wise. Service can be a little slow unless you make sure to catch their attention, but it’s mostly that everyone there seems to be running around doing tables and the bar. Bottles are expensive, but take that as a cue to drink the tap selections. | | PilsnerPeter (95), Flushing, New York | | January 5, 2009 Kitschy decor with lots of bottles around the walls. The taps include a couple of their own, as well as many other typical craft. The bottles were abundant, but pricey!! The small Cantillons were over $25! The pours were fairly priced, however. Their actually beers were quite average, at best. Their Saison was unexciting, and one of the IPAs was run of the mill. Doesn’t possess the intimate coziness that a true brewpub with personality should possess. | | elihapa (62), Honolulu, California | | October 9, 2008 I have very good things to say about this place. For one, they are located in a very cool part of Montreal. Second, they themselves represent a very cool, but homey beer pub, with just the right amount of lounge chairs, bar space, and interior decoration (including a wall of fame of craft beer). They had 18 taps going, with a lot of interesting stuff. Most impressively, they had BOTH a Charlevoix and a Hopfenstark tap running! this place should appeal to both beer enthusiasts as well as more casual drinkers. | clubchat (2), Sullivan, Quebec does not count - explanation | | October 3, 2008 Très bel endroit, vraiment surpris de voir une aussi grande place s’ouvrir toute de briques et de bouteilles de collection, la quantité de bière disponible en bouteille est unique au Québec, le fût aussi est à recommander, beaucoup de bières brassées sur place, encourage plein d’autres microbrasseries, chapeau | | robinvboyer (32), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario | | August 7, 2008 Next to Dieu Du Ciel, the best brewpub in Montreal. THe place looks amazing, i got lucky, andf got to sit in the nice comfy leather seats. LOADS of room, the service was super nice, and knowledgable. A HUGE list of 20 beers on tap. The food was decent, good finger foods. I would go back in a heartbeat! |
